Hi,

Steve here. I have a suggestion to you guys to add on a vacation feature on fiverr,so it will be convenient for us. During march, i went for holiday and i have orders keep coming in. As i was away for 3 weeks,i was unable to attend to my gigs which i lose a lot sales. I would suggest a vacation mode feature which could tell buyers that we would be away from what date till what date. This could let them know we are away for holidays and they can order place their order after this date again. Hope this will help and improve Fiverr community! Cheers!

Yes, the same could be applied to the status awareness I mentioned elsewhere. We need to be able to tell buyers as a group what is happening not have to mail each one individually.

Holiday, Delay due to Power Failure or storm damage etc. We had 76 houses burn down in my sisters town on Sunday, try and concentrate on work when your family is off fighting a blaze.

I need to be able to give instant status and tell the buyers immediately.

100% support this, you could present the seller with a number of options:

  1. Let the customer ‘park’ their gig order, it will remain ordered but the money will not be debited and the counter will not start until the seller deactivates vacation mode.

  2. Let the buyer ‘register interest’, this will email and message the user on fiverr when holiday mode is deactivated as well as make a note of the buyers username. The seller could then have a ‘broadcast’ option to send a personalised message to everyone who registered interest when they get back.

Just ideas, but these would really be a help!

I agree - we need a vacation mode or something similar. I went on vacation for three weeks earlier this year and had very limited internet access. I suspended my gigs, but I had multiple messages come in, asking when I would be back up and running. I had to respond to each message individually.

It would be nice to set a vacation mode so that when potential buyers click to my gigs, they see that I’m gone and when I’ll be back. Then we know that if something comes up, we don’t have to check for messages every single day.

I like this idea a lot. Also a weekend mode would be nice. If I get an order on Friday on a 1 day gig I’m not going to see it since I only work Mon-Fri. So I had to set to 3 day gigs so I don’t loose any orders.

I support his however my next big vacation is 2 years away so I think that gives fiverr enough time to plan and develop this concept :o)

Reply to @madmoo: Yes, suspending your gig has always been an option, BUT that means that you are loosing money for that entire time. That is not a good alternative. Now days when on vacation some of us are able to fill our orders by simply accessing the internet from any hotel room. Also, you cannot extend your lead time when Fiverr decides to make your gig into an Express gig. Mine are both Express gigs and I know I never requested that. Therefor I lost the ability to extend my lead time once they were made express gigs.

I agree that suspending gigs and adding lead times appropriately already addresses this issue. Although… I would love to be able to set an out of office for messages! If a message goes more than 24 hours with out a response people start getting annoyed and even messaging again. Which has me working 7 days a week and I dread the idea of messages to go without response if I was actually take a vacation!
