Customer does not want to cancel

Hello together,

as a Seller I have accepted an order for a customer. The order includes four software developing tasks regarding a native iOS app with a Firebase backend connected, so the app retrieved it's data from the backend programmend by the customer. The customer delivered a half working app (and as it turns out later - the backend). The customer came to me with the request to help him, because he is starting developing software.

It's a small order, 40$, 1 day delivery for I thought small and easy to do tasks. But the problems arises when I want to complete task 4: the backend is not sending back the data in a correct format. I already told it to the customer 3 or more times. But he didn't understand.

Now, I only want to cancel the job. He has got 3 of the 4 tasks done and have got the source code. But the customer does not want to cancel.

No I have two questions:

1) Why, really why, do I'm not able to cancel this job from my side even if I know the customer gets 3 of 4 tasks for 0€, I lost time and money.

2) What should I do now? The customer support already told me, that the client is indeed not understandable

Greetings

Hey.
You can talk with the buyer and tell him that you can't complete the 4th one. So, if he want to cancel he can or if he is fine to complete the order having 3 completed then just deliver the order. It depends on his agreement.

else
you can tell the customer support that you can't complete the job so cancel it. Then they will cancel the order.

Good luck!!

Have you asked customer support to cancel it for you? I see you already have spoken to them, but they should be able to cancel the order if you have tried explaining this to your buyer without success and they refuse to cancel.

Thanks for your answers! I will write to the customer support once again.

In the mean time I have read many articles about the cancellation system on fiverr. The problem is, that the buyer does not really get his money back, the already paid amount will be credited to his account. With the credits the customer is able to buy another gig from a developer, but what if the customer does not want that at all...?

Thanks for all the answers!
I contacted the support once again and after a short time, the job is canceled by the supporteer.

*Woohhoo*

But I've also got a negative entry regarding statistics...

Yes, unfortunately, the dispute is always against us. This needs to be changed if both parties want to cancel the order.
