Increase in fake inquires on gig's

I have noticed a regular pattern of fake inquires on my gig and blocked them without response that resulted in decreased response rate. Here is the situation:

• I received at a time inquiries from new accounts with totally irrelevant information. For example my gig is about A product and in the inquiry they ask me about Z product.
• So based on my gut's instead responding to those fake inquires, I opted to block them directly but it result in decreased response rate on my profile.

I am a bit worried because at the end of the day these fake inquiries impact badly to my conversation rate. I would appreciate you advice on this matter.

I think it is better to give a short reply and then block after the reply.
