Greetings everyone

So, I am not sure this is the right forumn or not, however I would love your opinions on a particular situation. I offered a buyer's request as you guys suggested in order to improve my ranking, and as a new seller I was very glad to get a response out of 45 offers sent. This particular buy want to convert jpegs to words which I am very willing to do. She over would love to take the situation outside Fiverr, I was not sure if that was necessary but I did.

As a very cautious person that I am, she kept asking for my details, my date of birth and all and I gave her the wrong details because I was very suspicious. The project she offered what a 200 page of jpeg which I don't mind converting, however she decided to increase the amount of pays by 6, I am talking from $550 to $3600 dollars. It was outrageous and It was something others will jump into. Remember, I am a very cautious person and my intuition kept telling it's not real, therefore I requested for part payment before commencement. I would not want to waste 4 days typing contents while I am unsure of the payment. She refused! 😲 I was surprised and I told her that I am willing to do it for lesser  i.e $550 if we take the conversation back to Fiverr. Guess what?

She blocked me! Pls be careful of this, always try as much as possible to keep your conversation with clients within Fiverr, it is a trustworthy site and this will not only prevent you from being taking advantage of but you will get your money exactly when it is due!

My question is, do you think I did the right thing? I mean, I am a new seller that ought to jump at every opportunity to earn or get a rating on Fiverr which will in turn boost my income. Should I have done the job?

First of all. why you communicated about taking the order outside of Fiverr?
You'll be banned if Fiverr comes to know about this situation.

Why they have created the platform if you want to deal outside. And then, as your first move is wrong, it really doesn't matter how cautious etc you're. You, yourself put your account on stake, I wonder how cautious you are.

This is against Fiverr's Terms of Service. You cannot ask a client to pay before you begin an order. Same as you wouldn't deliver your work before getting paid right? I understand you're new, but if you're a cautious person I highly suggest you read the ToS so you won't risk a warning or lose your account; Fiverr's Terms of Service
