My five years account with 17k reviews was hacked

I'm Rebecacovers, the book covers designer. My account was recently hacked. Someone changed the password and email. The account is online but I do not have access to it. I contacted customer support but have not received an answer yet.  I can confirm the account via the phone number (if they did not change it), and provide my documents where the photo matches the profile picture. I can also do a zoom call with customer support to confirm my personality. I am ready to provide the source files for all my projects as well.

I am sad to see these things happen.

Only customer support is going to help you. The thing is, those people will not be able to add a new payment system without actual proof, so they shouldn't be able to withdraw any of your funds. Which is why you want to go to customer support, show your ID and whatever they ask you as a proof, maybe even the Zoom call you mentioned.

Unfortunately there's nothing we, forum members and Fiverr sellers are able to do, other than wish you good luck in recovering it. And maybe next time try to set up 2 factor authentication or maybe even create a separate email account specifically for this Fiverr account, just to avoid any random attacks.

Once you do get the account back, check and see on the SETTINGS page where you are logged in, this will show the device and also location of that person who hacked you. But as I said, once you get the account back, add 2 factor authentication, that should drastically increase your Fiverr account protection.

Thank you so much for your response. I posted the message here to warn other sellers that such things might happen, and account security is essential.

I hope to get my account back soon.

Something 🐟 fishy is going on? 🤔

Well, if hackers have control over the account, I think you don't need that question mark.

I just checked, too, and for me, it says "Ukraine", though, as it does in her screenshot.

Hmm, it seems I made the mistake of copying and pasting Rebeca's name as listed in her post. I forgot that the Forum sometimes adds a "1" to users' names here.

I did check Rebeca's profile without the one and I see it as posted above too.

However, it is suspicious that the account in this screenshot was just set up this month.

I just looked at her profile and now it looks like it is from France where in the image above it says @rebecacovers1 is from Ukraine?

Oh I have checked rebecacovers1 on fiverr. Location set by automatically right? Unless she was in France or using vpn for some reason. It's fishy indeed. Just right after this post original account had delivered order.
It might be someone claiming to be her trying to get some loophole somehow 🤷‍♂️

Hi! I am so glad to let you know that I got my account back.
I am very grateful Fiverr customer support team for protecting and recovering my account and helping during this hard process. Now I continue working using my original account.
Thanks to all of you guys for the support messages.

Glad it all worked out. However, as I said above, it's a good idea to add 2 factor authentication, maybe even create a separate email address solely for Fiverr. These things will help.
