What is the most important tip you'll give a young new designer?

In light of recent events, I don't think there will be any increased interest in the services of designers and illustrators. There is enough material on the web for AIs to get better and better, to draw more accurately, to design more interestingly. So it's time to think about a profession where you do more with your hands, because individuality, creativity and creativity are becoming less and less important.

You will be getting lots of advices from people. However, I'll give just one advice from my side.

I think, to be an absolute graphic designer, you need to read lots of books what most people avoid. Reading books will make you a good researcher, good thinker, an artist who doesn't collect everything indiscriminately, rather selectively! Books will help you learn thinking out of the box that is a must for a graphic designer. So, read books as many as you can! And be selective while reading books!

Here is the simple process for young or newbies designer can follow...

Gather Knowledge > Implement > Get Feedback > Improve

Without implementing knowledge it’s noise, then get feedback from surrounding  peoples & lastly improve it based of feedback & iterate the process.

I honestly tend to tell people not to get into the design field. Especially on a platform like Fiverr. Think about it this way: most jobs do the 9-5 40 hour work weeks. The average designer makes around 50k a year in the US. The average engineer makes around 75K a year for the same time spent in school with the same 40 hour work week.

Designer: 50k

Engineer: 75k

Business Manager: 75k

Nurse: 75k

You know what a designer with a 4 year degree earns? Well it's about the same as what any retail associate with no degree makes. Also any company you'd try to get hired with expects you to know a multitude of things that are totally different degrees and their own careers. Website design, email marketing, graphic design, coding, etc. On top of needing a 4 year degree all to make about the same amount as if you just went to work the register at Sears.

Here's the typical job posting you'll see for a design in my area. Keep in mind minimum wage for most jobs now a days hovers around $13-15 dollars an hour.

No matter how experienced you are, always adopt the mindset of a young and new designer. Stay curious, keep learning, and experiment with new things every day. As a designer, you are tasked with crafting not only your work but also your life, your thoughts, and your future. This means you are in a constant state of change and evolution. Be a free thinker and an innovator; avoid being a copy of others. This is what it means to be a designer.
