Dominican freelancers / End of COVID restrictions in the Dominican Republic

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone:

Last night, the President of the Dominican Republic Luis Abinader announced the end of all the restrictive measures that the government had imposed in the country, to face the Covid-19 pandemic that has left 4,351 people dead in the DR.

He commented that it will no longer be necessary to use the mask, show the vaccination card to access all places, or restrictions in public areas, which will be the individual responsibility of each citizen.

Abinader, making a brief speech to the country at 8:00 p.m. on a network of digital media, radio and television, said that the country deserves and needs an emotional recovery and to leave behind the measures that had to be imposed for a time that is past.

"After this long battle, we are beginning to regain our freedom," said the head of state, after considering that the government did what it had to do to protect the people.

My personal opinion, and working in the health area, and seeing people very sick every day due to COVID, I can say that If you are a person with health issues, continue to protect yourself, COVID is not over and there is a risk of contagion despite vaccination, so if you are a person at risk, with heart problems, diabetic, etc., take care of yourself and your loved ones.

All the best.
