Ouch

So - a lot of you already know that I live abroad - and have for about 5-6 years now. One issue I always had with this was.. going to the dentist.

Finally managed to get an appointment at a cheap(ish) clinic and had an issue I've had for a looong time taken care of.

So now... I am SORE.

So... to cheer myself up, here are some of the food-highlights of Sweden (mostly Stockholm) I've had so far! Not sure about the names of places (would otherwise add them because sharing the love for food makes me happy.)

I challenge you all to either write about (or show) the best meal you've had in 2022 so far.

KBBQ - Didn't have the chance to take more pictures - was pretty nice but I've had better.

Best pork bao I had in a long time - their ramen is okay as well!

Best Ramen in Stockholm, their broth is amazing.

Sushi near my town - nothing special but a nice snack before travelling.

Really nice mango-curry - not sure how traditional it is but I loved the sweetness!

These three were from a Greek restaurant (bit of a fancier place than normal) - dessert was so~ good!

(and... my office last Monday when I was heading back home!)

this place has really become very popular, they serve incredible dishes.

That looks absolutely amazing!

I'm really curios about the food over there now - is it spicy? Sweet/salty? (Or a mix?)

. I had seaweed salad to start and some really good Sake!

Our favourite place only has 4 types of ramen (one vegan, three meat-based ones) and like 4 drink options (sadly no sake) but it's easily my favorite spot right now!

Seaweed salads can be awesome as well (though I typically don't order them on their own.)

It's ironic how people say they're living abroad when this is an international platform

International or not - I don't live in the country I was born / raised in - so I am living abroad.

(Even compared to Fiverr - the actual company.) I understand the point - just explaining it since the whole mention of that was for context as it's hard for me to find a decent dentist when I'm not home (which is.... Basically all the time.)

I think she's referencing the fact that she's currently living abroad as opposed to her own home country.

@katakatica you had me at the sushi and ramen. I'm seriously jealous.

I haven't been out in a while because of the covid restrictions in our country.... but I made this awesome cheesecake.

Yes - that's what I meant.

And that cheesecake looks amazing! I've been wanting to get into baking but haven't had the chance yet to be honest.

Life is roughly normal here - I try to support local businesses (though I know Sweden is doing well enough if it's allowed I think it's always a great thing!)

New item on my bucket list - unlocked!

Jokes aside, that DOES look awesome.

I love splurging on a nice meal from time to time. Though now that I'm not always alone when dining out it's a bit different because the experience has changed a bit (I don't hate it, though!) I just love a good book/meal/wine combo!

I don't know if this counts or not, since I don't have a picture. But I've been sprouting lentils in a mason jar in my bedroom for something new. And I made this amazing wrap sandwich with them. I lightly fried a tortilla in butter and lightly fried the lentils in some butter and seasoning. Then I fried some cheese until it was fully cooked and chewy, and laid it on the wrap followed by the lentils. It was a very simple lunch but it was so good. The sprouted lentils are so tasty cooked that way that when a bunch fall off onto my plate they are good even by themselves. Yum, yum.

Oh, I do have a few pictures of my sprouting jars. One shows the lentils just getting started, the other one is clover sprouts. I like those on sandwiches, too, but I like sprouted lentils a lot more than I expected.

Don't think I'm a healthy person because of this. Actually, I'm trying to grow away from my natural tendency to want Hot Pockets for every meal.

Mongolian beef over steamed rice recipe (Jasmine or Basmati 🍚) is a plus! 😋

Oh I LOVE Mongolian beef - hope to make it when I have my own kitchen and spices! But I also like just some fluffy rice with eggs when I'm too lazy! One thing I'll get when I move out is a ricecooker for sure.

Honestly - I'm already worried of moving out because I could have instant ramen twice a day... (just because of time reasons...and because I like noodles (and rice.. and other stuff.) But it's great that you're trying new things - never had lentil sprouts but that sounds pretty tasty! Do they taste a lot like lentils tho? Or like beansprouts?

Nooo - I shouldn't check this topic late night😂 It's almost midnight and I'm going to my fridge 😆

I'm sorry! I'm glad I have no snacks right now because I'd definitely be reaching for some chocolate!

If you ever come to Punta Cana, you won´t regret going to this restaurant!
