If a clients order auto-completes am I still obligated to make revisions if they get back to me afterwards

georgenhm

Question

I was just wondering what the general stance is on this issue? I have had a few orders, completed them to a good standard and I won't hear anything for say a week. By which point the order has been marked as complete. They then message me asking to make various changes. Even if they haven't used up all of their revisions, am I still obligated to perform changes?

I was just wondering what fiverrs stance is on this?

is it against ToS to refuse service after auto complete , thats all im wondering really 🙂

The buyer has a grace of 3 days to request for a revision (or 8 days during busy periods)

After this, the work get auto-completed

However, if a buyer request a modification, be kind enough to tend to the buyer.

On the flip side

1. There is 14days pending period (non TRS) till your payment get released into your wallet and within these days, the buyer can still request cancellation via the resolution centre and get the cancellation. (You lose your first drafted work, time and money)

2. An happy client would certainly return more orders in the future (you gain more repeat buyers and save unnecessary circumstances)

Offcourse yes. Its how you can become loyal to client and get into good books of client. Most of the clients look forward to after delivery service. So Clients may have busy time while order gets auto completed and may have been taking list of modifictions. So its good positive thing that we give service even after delivery. We will get a long term client as well as recommendation.

But Only issue is that Rating system gets disabled after 2-3 days so try to contact them and rate your order and continue with the work.

I respect your positive stance on this, I also understand the moral importance of doing so I was just wondering if it is against fiverrs rules to refuse additional work after auto complete. Not saying I would at all I just never wanted to find my self in a situation where someone pipes up a few months down the line asking for changes if my circumstances change and wont have time.

I would side with @vsjforall first statement. Build trust by tending to the requested revision (I.e. a modification to the final deliverable and not a change in the concept of the deliverable as this is termed a change in order)

However,

Please don't do this, as this is termed bugging and fiverr can readily punish you if the buyer takes you up

Do not ask for a review (either good or bad) from a buyer. Its against the TOS of 5r

Means I am not telling like to forcefully review the order. Ask them and notify that order is autocompletes and if you have anything to work with fiverr and Client may realise if and rate if he got a great work. Because some buyers have a confusion of order page and inbox. So we just need to approach and notify them. I had 100-200 clients who havent been able to distinguish even after order completion. They said  like ok Order is completed right Shall I pay for next revisions. But I normally say that its unlimited revisions and you can give me anytime if you have modifications. And I have instances like Client rate after that reply after getting our trust.

Thanks, I understand business principles of making the client happy for repeat business. I just wanted to know the black and white rules fiverr had, you have answered this - thanks!

No.

Communicate up front and thoroughly during the design process and during the revision window. Have a clear revision policy, do great work up front, and don't do unending free revisions. That's how you get returning clients worth keeping. Clients that ask for free work are not clients worth having - unless your work is such quality that it's valued at $0.00

Here's my revision policy to use as a sample.
