What should I do if I am not sure if I can complete an order?

I had a client asking me if I can complete a project, giving me all the details that I needed. Looking over it, I think I could do what he asked me to do, but I wasn't sure.

What's the best course of action?

1. Accept and risk a cancelled order (whose effects will pass in time);
2. Reject and lose money?

In this case I rejected, but I am not sure this is the best option.

It’s definitely a personal call, but I wouldn’t take on a project unless I was sure I could deliver and meet (preferably exceed) the client’s expectations. It seems like it would be a potential headache for the both of you otherwise.
