SEEKING ADVICE: I need to prove my work done and the services I provided as a freelancer on Fiverr.

Hi all,

I am seeking advice here from full-time Fiverr freelancers that are Level 2 & top rated sellers, who have spent years working on the platform. Thank you in advance.

I am working as a full-time freelancer on Fiverr and on another famous platform. For my freelance business needs, I need to prove the work done and the services I offered as a freelancer on these platforms to local and foreign authorities. I need to to get credible and legitimate evidence of my work and services to claim my "professional experience", that in my case would be the WordPress Website Design & Development service.

I was able to collect evidence from the other platform in the form of invoices billed to clients, however, in case of Fiverr I cannot do that as "Fiverr does not issue invoices for sellers".

I need some form of evidence from Fiverr. If I am unable to do that my professional working experience on Fiverr , unfortunately, would be considered ZERO.

And, yes, I have requested statements of earning from Fiverr as well but that only proves the "earned revenues" not the "services given" as a freelancer.

Kindly advice me on my given situation, I need to know how experienced "Level 2 & top rated sellers" claim their professional work experience on Fiverr as there is no official document that supports the claim and testify about your experience on Fiverr as a seller.

I have another query, has anybody "issued invoices to Fiverr", if so I would like to discuss the process with you. As per the support representative:

"Please bear in mind that Fiverr does not issue invoices for sellers, but sellers can issue invoices to Fiverr to report their earned revenues to the tax authorities if it is needed. These invoices don't have a specific form and you can create them as you wish. You can send invoice to the invoice to support@fiverr.com or mail it to our TelAviv headquarters."

Kind regards,
Fatimeh R

I can't say for sure but....

  1. You should be able to use screenshots of the order pages (details section). It looks like an invoice. And it's what buyers were advised to use until 5r implemented invoices for buyers.
  2. You can produce your own invoices in the name of Fiverr. But that may not sit well with the local authorities.
  3. At last, reach out to the CS and see if they can help.

P.S. If you reach out to the CS, do let us know what they say.

Good luck.

Hi, Thank you for the reply.

1) Unfortunately screenshots can be manipulated and are not considered as official documents, so it does not help.
2) I tried going that route as well. They do mention that Seller can issue invoice to fiverr HOWEVER there is no proof of credibility. I contacted Fiverr CS as I was looking into sending e-invoice to Fiverr that allowes to digitally sign invoices online. This way my signatures would be there on the e-invoice and a representative from Fiverr would be able to sign it on receiving it. I thought this way my invoice would be verifiable and have some credibility legally.

This was the response of CS.

As for your request to have Fiverr sign some documents that you'd send us, you are welcome to send us whatever is required by your local tax authorities, however, please keep in mind that Fiverr will not return anything or sign any documents you send, either digitally or otherwise.

The only document that we can send to sellers is the Statement of Earnings.

3) I Reached out! I spent like 6 days explaining my need of proofs of work and services but no luck. They were adamant that they can only provide me with statement of earning.

I am baffled to be honest, I was not expecting this at least seeing how well fiverr is established now. That's why I am here to know how the experienced sellers "proofs their services" as there is NO official document that supports the claim. This can't be true that no one ever felt the need to proof their services.

On the other hand, the Upwork platform provides invoices for each transaction.

Statement of Earnings.

That - coupled with screenshots - should be enough to prove your services.

Of course, you should print the screenshots to present before the authorities in a proper fashion.

As for as the manipulation is concerned, pretty much every document can be forged today - so screenshots are no different. The best way to overcome that is to attach a "personal statement" like you do with a resume. At least, that is how it works in most of the countries.

You may want to discuss with your local freelance community (or a lawyer or CA). They'd certainly have more information.

Keep up the great work.

P. S. It's okay to not present every single order. They're usually more interested in the timeline than the work done. If you go the professional route, i.e. hiring a lawyer or CA, please be super cautious. Verify before you spend or commit to anything.
