Tis the season for ugly sweaters

Looks like this area is the only place I'll be hanging around in, I haven't checked the seller/buyer tips category in a long time..

Anyway, I have a question to my Christmas-celebrating pals here.
Any of you guys own the so-called "ugly Christmas sweater?"

My mom has one BTW, I asked a friend of mine living in Seattle to ship one for her, and it is charmingly ugly. Mother was very pleased.
I have a vest I got from Clair's several years ago (it was the last one and it was 40% off), it has cats all over it and it lights up. I also have 3 Christmas neckties I made (I bought the fabric at Joanne's Fabric) and another necktie I bought at I THINK it was at Sears, and about 5 or 6 pairs of Christmas earrings I bought from Macy's and Targets. Wow I feel so American.

I didn't know "ugly sweater cookie kits" were a thing

Huh, OK, really??? Never heard of that one!!
I just Googled it, but it looks pretty darn cute to me, it's not ugly at all.
In fact if I could buy it back here in Tokyo I will. BTW your sweater is quite pretty, not ugly at all.
Same thing with @vickiespencer, I personally love owls and that sweater looks nice.
I've seen a good number of sweaters being sold when I was in the states during December several years ago, and it said "Ugly Sweaters" on the sign
but when I looked through the rack a lot of them were quite cute.

This is the vest I have:
I wear this at work every year and my students ask me if "all American dress like this during Christmas."
I just tell them some of them do, not all. Or should I just say "Of course!!" ??

What I wear in winter usually doesn't matter, because it's buried under layers of coats. ^^;

As far as I'm aware, most people don't own more than one or two, and those get worn for either parties or for Christmas itself. There's always an exception, though. I recall hearing about a teacher that seemed to have a new one every day for the week leading up to Christmas. (I might just be thinking of Miss Frizzle's dresses and earrings, though.)

Miss Frizzle's dresses

Um, OK, I kinda-sorta like her telephone earrings. Love that antique-ish look.

I CANNOT SAY THE SAME FOR THE TEETH DRESS!!!!
The row of teeth at the hem of her dress is....I dunno, it's giving me goosebumps for some reason!!!

And for the third outfit...are her shoes sticking their tongues out at me!?

Reading your chats about sweaters for winter might make me bring up a discussion about my part of the world where we experience a severe harmattan where we certainly feel thirsty most times and our lips are always dry and could burst if not properly handled or treated

so instead of choosing the fine sweater you term ugly, id rather shop for lip balms😀
