A thread about nothing and something

A catch all thread about anything that's on your mind - 5r or non 5r.

I'll start. There is this really cool gig by this particular seller that I really want to buy but I don't need it. I just can't justify spending that kind of money for a fun gig at this point in my life.

Anyone ever see a gig you're really tempted to get? 😁😆

Edit: I need to place like 20 orders but only from this one particular seller. I don't want to take a chance with anyone else.

She's really busy right now but there are plenty of other sellers desperate for orders. The problem is I don't think anyone possesses her level of talent. I only placed a 1/3 of what I needed.

I do admit it is getting harder and harder for newbies to gain reputation. If I'm not willing to spend time giving a newbie a chance at the fear of getting junk - what are other experienced buyers thinking.

My skepticism comes from all the threads of the desperate. It tells me there is a huge risk involved.

The term is "shiny object syndrome".. happens to the best of us.. I think I am immune to it at this point..

If I wasn't retiring soon, I'd do it. 😆

Speaking of throwing money at shiny things. I recently found out that you can buy working soviet era space-themed string lights from my childhood on etsy for $45-85 (+30 bucks for shipping).

Now it’s everything I can think about. The price is for sure insane but at least they work (according to the vendor they do). Mine got chewed up to bits by two cats, two younger siblings and a parrot. The price is unreasonable, shipping will take forever but I want the dang thing. It used to make me so happy as a kid.

Sweet. One should invest in what makes them happy, at least that's what I feel, so if you aren't too bothered by the price tag, I think you should go for it 😊

I keep telling that to my penthouse in London but it doesn’t want to buy itself to make me happy 🙈

@ahmwritingco is managing my gofundme page but I suspect he spends those money on deliveroo and beer 🤔
