Unable to respond to buyer's email

cvaldez74

Question

I received an email from a potential buyer in the middle of the night last night. I read it at one point when I couldn't sleep but wanted to wait until today to respond. After being out on a job this morning, I came home to respond to her email but the area where I type is greyed out and not letting me type anything. I tried to email the buyer in a new message but was just sent back to her original message to me.

beside her name in my inbox is a little red clock icon that says "respond within 12 hours." is this happening because it's been more than 12 hours since I read the email/since she sent it?

You mean a message forwarded to your email? If so, try messaging from the Fiverr platform. You can also check and see if the profile is gone. If it is, just mark the message as spam, and it shouldn't then count against you. If the buyer is not gone, then they might have blocked you, or they're in 'unavailable' mode. Either way, the clock is because Fiverr wants Sellers to respond to messages within the first 24 hours, not because you waited.

I also received a message within the Fiverr platform from a buyer that I had talked to before and I think I have recorded an audio for them. I got out of bed and read the message. Then I tried to respond and it was as though it just disappeared into thin air. I checked everywhere and could find nothing. Do you know if a buyer decides that they do not want to go through with a request, then they can delete it? Could that be happening?
