pandorassoxxx
Hey there, I am sort of new here and I have a question I just cannot find the answer to, about shipping physical items. One of my gigs is for a physical item. I offer it at the standard $5 gig cost with $8 shipping+handling. I sold one in February, shipped it ASAP - the customer is happy, and the order is complete. I know there is a clearing time for payments, but when the payment finally cleared, I only got $4 in revenue. I understand that Fiverr takes $1 for every $5 gig, but none of the shipping fee I charged was credited to my account. Also, the order page says I “Earned $8”. But my revenue overview says I only got $4 for that order.Considering it cost me over $7 to ship the item, only getting $4 TOTAL is not going to work for me! What am I doing wrong/what could be the problem? Thanks!
rowbee
Look at your order, that’s the page where it says your instructions, how long you have to deliver and what they said when they started the order.Towards the top of the page, you should see “item”, “Quantity”, “duration”, and "amount."Under that you should see Local Shipping in United States followed by quantity and the amount, do you see that?At the bottom of that receipt, you’ll see the total. If I read your post correctly, you should have total of $13 ($8+$5) that you made for that order (then subract $2 for what fiverr takes out). So really, you should have received $11. celticmoon
@pandorassoxxx For some reason your shipping fee isn’t showing. I also charge for shipping, and on my Revenues page, the amounts always includes the gig fee AND shipping fee together in one total, they’re never listed separately. So I think you need to send your screenshots and file a ticket with customer support.Unless we’re speaking of different things, the Order page, what @rowbee was referring to, lists the retail amounts, what the buyer was charged, i.e. Gig x 1 $5 Shipping $10. Then when the order completed, you see the green banner across the top that says ‘You earned $12’, the amount you should receive after Fiverr’s cut, after the funds clear.I’m curious: why do you charge so much to mail photos or a pair of socks? I ship stuffed animals, and my domestic U.S. shipping fee is $4 (retail), which for me is $3.20, enough to cover postage and shipping materials. Sounds like a loss to me.

celticmoon
@ricksper Yes, Priority Mail is expensive and takes 2 days, sometimes 1, for most U.S. destinations, and 3 to non-contiguous states, and includes the cost of the box. That’s why I use First Class mail, which takes 2 days for most U.S. destinations, and 3, occasionally 4 for non-contiguous states and buy my own shipping materials, all for about half the cost. That’s why I asked why she charged so much to ship used socks or photos. And yes, you’re right, the amount she should’ve received could be $10.40. I misread what she wrote to mean that she was receiving $8.00, which is a $10.00 charge to the buyer. If the shipping fee is $8, she would get $6.40, as you wrote. Mea culpa~
