I'm simply going to share a Secret Technique used by Top Rated Sellers every single day. It's going to blow your mind, because it's so incredibly simple.

We offer to do something we're good at!

Yep. That's it. It's really that simple. We offer services based on what we're good at. We don't pretend to be good at something else. That way, our buyers are happy and satisfied. 

So do you wanna start doing something you're really good at and find success on Fiverr? Or you you want to pretend? 

Up to you! But now you know the biggest secret of them all.

The term "expert" is so overused these days, so I prefer to be called a connoisseur, aficionado, specialist and maestro these days.

See, I've been thinking lately (been exhausted by trying to offer genuine/unique advice to people) and... this is accurate. 

Something else I've been trying to think of (but it's hard to do so without pointing fingers at people from certain niches) - if you have a tool that can help you finish a job that takes a (top rater/pro/level 2/level 1, whatever) seller days/weeks to do, the tool might NOT be helping as much as you think it is.

Indeed. You can offer all the advice you want (and don't want - hah) but certain people will never bother to read and learn. The simplest advice is truly "do something you're good at". Far to many sellers care only about gig rank, clicks, impressions and spamming social media. A little self-insight would go a long way. 

The people who believe that success comes from making a gig selling low-quality manure, have watched too many "Here's how to get rich on Fiverr with no skills"-videos. And if they aren't discerning enough to see through that, then frankly, I don't feel sorry for them. 

So my best advice to anyone who's looking for success on Fiverr, is to do something they are good at. If they aren't good at anything or willing to learn the skills required, then the freelancer life isn't for them.

I wish THIS was what those 'gurus' preached. Because you do NEED skills to do anything, so why would online work be any different? 

I realise that one time I was a waitress for like, three days. NEVER hated a job more than that - I'm really clumsy but I was desperate. Ended up mostly wasting time (and being SHOOK) after I was fired haha. The thing is - online, people don't have such 'consequences'. I've read several posts that confirmed that these gurus are telling them 'it's okay to break rules/get bad reviews, just go and make a new account' - so even reviews/criticism isn't 'that' harsh. Some people just don't get the hint and try and try (which is sad)...

But... I know they won't read any of this. 

Maybe there should be an undercover youtube account 'debunking' Fiverr myths (but posing as a 'guru'...)

Offering something we're good at and always striving to improve.

Whenever I receive messages from people asking how I became a TRS or how to get a single order, the answer frequently aligns with this topic. I can't bring myself to say, "You're not good enough at the service you're offering ." I hate feeling judgmental, but it often comes down to exactly that. I never say that, though. I evade such conversations.

A lot of sellers seem to think Fiverr is a good place to "learn and practice" new skills. You should already have the skills before starting a gig, buyers aren't guinea pigs.

I agree. People come here expecting professional work, regardless of the price they pay for it. They don't use their hard-earned money on a random dude trying to learn something new.

I've always loved that word. Autodidacticism. When people ask me what sort of education I've got, I say "I have a degree in autodidacticism". They quickly shut up once they realize that they have no idea what that means, and that I'm probably smarter than them. Lol!

I've implemented over the top courtesy myself lately. Testing it out. Working great so far. Got me a tip today.

When I get those messages on the forum, I'd be happy to guide them and help with advice, if I think they are worthy. If not, I'll just give them some generic advice and move on. But generally speaking, I think more people need to hear "you can't do it". It's the truth, in many cases, and the truth shall set you free. 

I'm very judgemental. I don't generalize, though, and I think that's an important distinction to make.

One of the important things that I have learnt as I grew on Fiverr is that you should never overpromise to anybody.

This is something we should all be aware of. 

I thought that it is important to point this out because some buyer's might get frustrated and leave Fiverr altogether. We don't want any buyer to leave us right? So, please everyone do not overpromise and underdeliver!

Hello Smashradio,
Thanks a lot for sharing this topic. I have learned many ideas from the post. Already I have known what did I think.
But The many sellers spurring by some negative buyers. A seller tries to give the best services of the buyer.  I did good work for my Garments Photo editing client and He was super happy. But When I delivered the order after completing this order, He came back after a few days and did cancel the order without any Explanation of my mistake. 

This type of a buyer ended up a seller freelancing life. 😪
