How does Fiverr act toward VPN?

I live in an Asian country, while all of my clients so far are from USA. This creates a few differences due to the location. For example, currency. Also, some apps don't work in my country that I need to access to work.

For this reasons, I need to use VPN to change my location temporarily to work around the complications.

My question is, after I doing something, if I mistakenly log in to Fiverr before closing the VPN, Fiverr will see my location as USA whereas it was and will be Bangladesh. Not to mention the public and overly crowded IP address that the VPN provides.

So, if I log in to Fiverr with VPN connected, how will Fiverr take it? what are the penalties?

Yes, Fiverr will detect you're using a VPN. The best you will get is a warning. The worst, you'll get banned.

If you use VPN then one day this marketplace will disable your account. You can set your currency here using currency setting, By default, it's a USD. We are in the same location, So I have a suggestion please use a real IP address that's better for you.

It's not about Fiverr. It's about shopify. I design custom webpages. On the website, a visitor from USA will see like, "USD 98.99" for a product. But when I design the page, an app automatically converts the currency and shows "BDT 7,946.99" while I am designing. On some designs, the extra two digits causes a line break, and adds an extra line. It's impossible at times to continue designing. Using a VPN prevents the USD automatically turning into BDT. And makes my life 10 times easier.

But since VPN is a serious issue, I guess I really should not use it.

Ok, got it. For your working process purpose, you can use VPN Bro... That's not an issue.
But make sure that time this marketplace account should be not connected there.

Okay bro. Thanks a lot. I will be extra careful when I turn on VPN.

I agree you should make sure it isn't used when you're using Fiverr in case it gets your account in trouble/banned (I couldn't see VPN mentioned in the TOS but it's probably taken into account in the "authentic Fiverr profile" bit where it says your location must be accurate).

What if someone from Bangladesh or someone else from a country with a different currency went to that Shopify site to buy that product, or if the price increased to more digits? Shouldn't it be designed so it still looks okay when the product has a couple of extra digits there for those cases?

That's true. But the thing is, it's made for this one product only and he sent me a very specific design. I know its my job to make a way around it, that's why I am the seller and he is not. But then again, I would work around it if I could. I'm really in a pinch, and i'm still trying to make a way to satisfy all aspects.

I just need to be extra careful handling VPN.

You could just set your currency to USD. It's not a good idea to fake your location, as that can get some buyers mad, thinking you're intentionally deceiving them and giving a further impression of dishonesty. Not a good way to build buyer confidence.

Edit: Just realized you posted this twice, and were answered in the other topic. Duplicate topics merged.

It's related to few factors.

Fiverr system detect and give priority of the device actually.
If you spoof your device identity, then it may cause an issue with fiverr.

Also, if you frequently keep changing your ip, fiverr system may detect it as suspicious activity.

This all if you use VPN and fiverr at a time.

So when you work with VPN, you can close the fiverr tab.

Also, if you use VPN and work on a site by violating their T/C or TOS (example: google review), you will be suspended as well.

I am not trying to deceive or mislead. They know the correct information, and I talked to them prior to using VPN. That section is clear between us. VPN is needed because I can not access the full functionality from my current location. A perfect example is Paypal. My clients need paypal payment set up. But paypal is restricted from my location. Thus I can not set up paypal on shopify. If I use a VPN and set location in USA, then I can continue my job. The client knows it, and he is okay with it.

The problem arise, when I forget to turn off VPN after working and accidentally open Fiverr while VPN is also on. Usually I try my absolute best to remember to turn it off before opening Fiverr, but there were a few close calls, and that got me concerned. Thus the post.

Also, I am really sorry for the repeated post. I posted once, and for some reason it didn't show on my phone when I was outside, and I thought, Something must've gone wrong and it didn't post. So, I did it again. I couldn't delete one of the posts. My bad.

Thanks seven for the information. I feel better now.

I don't use VPN regularly, and I try my absolute best to remember to turn off VPN before entering Fiverr. It's just there was a few close calls and I almost clicked Fiverr before turning off VPN.

I'm not messing with any information for any shady purpose. There were times when I had to set up some Paypal things on shopify, and paypal is restricted on my country. In order to work, I have use a VPN. My client knew about it and he was cool  with it.

I'm just concerned about what would happen if I miss-clicked(or miss-click in the the future)

I understand this is so you are able to complete certain projects. But with regards to Fiverr's stance on it --  best to ask Fiverr Customer Support... support@fiverr.com, the forum is primarily composed of buyers and sellers. Not much staff except for the mod team

I contacted Fiverr through customer support, and I just received their response. They clarified that they discourage the usage of VPN on Fiverr, but it doesn't break any rules if I do so.

They also confirmed that even if I do use VPN and Fiverr at the same time, it won't affect my account negatively in any way. But suggested not to do so for honesty and legitimacy. That's all.
