A VERY random thing I bought.

So I'm sure we've bought a lot of stuff with our Fiverr money, in my case 99% of my Fiverr income is used to pay my daily bills.
When I get a tip, I go to Starbucks and get myself a drink and some munchies.
Once in a blue moon, I'll buy something completely random, and I bought this 10 days ago, and it arrived last night.
I was looking for some crafting items with my friend for her business on ebay, and once that was over I started looking at some jewelry just for fun.
BTW I loooooooooove antique jewelry, and I bought this Victorian paste crescent moon brooch years ago and it's still my favorite brooch.

...and I came across this opal ring. Opal is my birthstone, and while I have 2 opal rings already...well, ahem, an opal is a girl's good friend. Maybe not best friend, but a very, very good friend. Yeah yeah, I bought it. Thank you Fiverr.

What I love about opals is the color. The photo is the same ring, but depending on the angle and the lighting, the colors change dramatically.

That's it, I just wanted to show it off.😍

Ladies, ( or guys, doesn't matter), if you have a jewelry/gemstone you love, please post. I love looking at pretty sparkly stones.🥰 🥰😍😍😍

I hope you grilled them with garlic butter. Can't go wrong with those two. 🥰

I remember someone told me in school that a birthstone for December was ruby and I said: “ew, but it’s for old people”. Sounds like a kind of stone you put into your crown when you’re 200+ years old sitting in a castle in the mountains and drinking the blood of your peasants.

This is the only bling that I have. It’s bonded marble + some amethyst crystals. Ukrainian brand macbregadgets makes these. When they were starting out, they were just a small local brand working with semi-precious materials and if you’d order a ring, the designer himself or his girlfriend would deliver it. Now they’re working with gold, get featured in international press and will block you on social media if you complain that they probably shouldn’t just glue the pearls on. It’s inspiring and heartbreaking at the same time.

I used to have 6 different rings from them but I broke all the rest. This one’s the only one that keeps holding on. Probably because the marble part is pretty thick and no matter how hard I try waving my hands around, I can’t crack it.

Love your ring. It’s a bit too shiny for me but the colors are gorgeous.

ha ha, they're not for me, they're for our pet Axolotl. They'll help keep the tank clean until he eventually catches and eats them 😄

some amethyst crystals.

LOOOOOOVE the rough natural looking amethyst crystals! I have a rough amethyst pendant, cut and polished stones are of course great but there's something so cool about the rough stones 😄

Most of it I paid less than the price of a newbie's gig for.

I love your collection, I see a unicorn, butterfly, moth, a rabbit...I'm guessing you're an animal lover?  😄

I love costume jewelry too, what I do is get a bunch of them for a cheap price, take them apart, and make them into something else.
I got this hair stick several years ago and originally it was covered in cheap-looking low quality plastic stones.
I wedged out all the stones and replaced them with resin crystals, added a cog wheel, and turned it into a steampunk-ish look.
I should have taken a before photo!!

I don't really think of myself as an animal lover, but I do love images of animals. It's most accurate to say I love stories - rabbits from Watership Down, for exmaple, unicorns from various fantasy stories. The moth matches this amazing skirt I have that's covered with roses and death's head moths.

I LOVE your steampunk piece! I'd wear that in a heartbeat.
