does being online makes any difference

Apart from anything else, staying online 24 hours a day is bad for a person's health and the health of whatever device they're using. If a buyer wants to work with you then they will and most people are familiar with the concept of a private life and sleep. Some buyers may need something doing very urgently and look specifically for online buyers but generally they have a reasonable deadline.

I want to know if staying online 24 hours really helps in getting orders.

Staying online 24 hours destroys your health, so, unless you intend to deliver orders from a hospital bed, it doesn't really help.

Being online only makes difference if the buyer needs something urgently done, or if you're in an oversaturated category or subcategory like data entry or background removal, the buyer sends a message to several sellers, and whoever responds the first gets the job.
