Communication outside the Fiverr platform is forbidden and against TOS. The rules applies for all users (buyers and sellers) and can lead to account restriction. I would wonder what he is afraid of and why on earth he created an account here if he is so anxious about the platform? Either way, I would think that they want to lure you off Fiverr in order to ask for something that Fiverr does not allow or perhaps to take advantage of you, since you would not have any safeguards (well, the ones that are there) from Fiverr. You also risk losing your account if you take the bait. Why do you need off site contact? That is the question, as some Gigs do need to have access to certain things in order to complete a job. But that you have to justify it somehow. For example, you can put in requirements the URL of a Facebook page or a WEB if you will really work with that data but an email. Why? On a Facebook page you may need to manage it, or create graphics according to some sample styles but email only serves as a contact and everything that email can provide, Fiverr has exactly the same functionality. When you make business cards you also need that data but for that reason I clarified that the fact of adding this data has to be justified. You suggested that he add his email to the requirements as if he didn't have to have any justification for doing so. You must be clear because there are people who can get confused. Someone only can want something from clients in order requirement section if those are related their service. It will be justified in more two stages... 1. Client will think why seller asking such a thing. Client will provide only logical information which will be actually need for work. 2. Fiverr also justify Gig description, video, order requirements. GG Thanks for all the feedback. I'm a coach here on FIverr and a counselor in the rest of the world. Clients moving from counseling to coaching are often familiar with the added protection required by US HIPPA laws. This includes encrypted email and video chat among other things. While these protections are not required for coaching relationships, some clients still expect them. What I'm hearing from the forum is that there might be an argument for outside communication because it necessary to complete the job, but generally it is against the TOS.
