I rated a seller too soon

Recommended Posts

Hi there. This is my second time ordering on Fiverr. Sellers do this thing where you have to complete the order and pay to give you your files. I did just that and I gave a 5 star rating because I liked the logo design the seller sent. However the files are still not sent and the seller is not communicating as to why. Knowing then what I know now, I wouldn't have given a 5 star review so that future buyers would be attentive to the fact that orders from this seller will not be on time.

Any way I can undo the rating for that order/seller and raise an issue about my files not being sent after payment?

You can't undo your reviews, however you can have some resolution for your case from customer support. But the issue you're mentioning is not clear enough. For you to accept an order, the seller has to deliver the work. then only you'll be able to accept it and leave reviews. As you saw the logo, I'm pretty sure that the seller delivered files required, I think you missed the order page. If so, you can go back to the order page using orders link in the navigation bar and choose the order so you'll be able to download the delivery.

Thanks for replying. The order was to include the source file, logo transparency, 3D mockup, social media kit and vector file. The seller only sent a JPG image to show me how the logo looks like (under the order tab). To receive the order files I had to complete the order. The seller messaged that they are working on it but I haven't received anything yet. It was supposed to be delivered on July 3rd.

If they delivered the JPG for final version, they already have the source files for that, what else do they need to work on?

Again, you can create a support ticket and even get your moneyback if you wish to. because if they did state that they offer the source file, they must attach them in the delivery. otherwise it'll considered as a partial delivery (which is a terms of service violation for the seller), but I'm not exactly sure how its going to turn out in your case as you already accepted the delivery and even left a review.

Keep in mind for next time, not to accept a delivery without you getting everything you need out of it. Seller can't say that they'll deliver the source files after you accepting the order and stuff like that. You have the total responsibility to review everything before accepting a delivery and to ask for revisions if the seller did deliver partially or wasn't met your expectations.

Sellers are not supposed to do that. That’s a TOS violation.
I would advise you to contact fiverr support and ask to cancel the order or ask them to contact your seller in your behalf.

and just in case: it is completely unprofessional what those sellers are doing and any such behaviour should be reported. First of all it’s incomplete delivery and secondly it’s a blackmail.

I appreciate the help thanks. I guess it is a mistake on my end as well since I accepted the order before receiving the files. I will make sure not to do that in the future. I have to find a way to resolve this issue now. I am more interested in receiving the actual files. But if this doesn't happen, I guess I have to report the seller and get a refund.

No, you have acted well! To receive the files you must first accept the order and it is assumed that to finalize the order you must have delivered the files. If he did not do so, write to him so that he can send them to you and if he does not report it to the support center. Did you check that the files are not attached in the order? Because it happened to me that a buyer had the files delivered and kept requesting them because he didn't realize that he had to click on the names to download them once he completed the order.
