Buyer Requests - Something is not right...

Why do many of those who make buyer requests add their links to services of themselves, in which they offer just the same of what they ask for?

These requests are false?, What is the reason for doing that?, Does it add up to any statistics?, Do they use it as advertising? Do you outsource services?

If someone can explain to me if these requests are true, I would appreciate it, because every time I see more of the same style and I feel like I am wasting time and meaningless offers. Thanks and greetings!

I think you already thought of the answers! First of all, you indeed shouldn't take these buyer requests serious at all. People who include a link to their own Fiverr gig in this way most likely do this to increase the statistics of their impressions & clicks . Which is a useless thing to do since impressions don't mean everything regarding a successful Fiverr career and the clicks that they do get don't lead to any orders (because they are from other sellers who aren't looking to buy a service through BR). Some may also include it hoping people will message them, which subsequently will increase their response rate.

Overall, replying to such requests is indeed a waste of time. However, the only reason I could think of that would justify including your own gig link is if you're looking for a service related to it (e.g. marketing etc). But then as you stated above, they wouldn't be offering the same service they're asking for in the BR.

I'm not at all a Fiverr expert but these are my thoughts based on what I've read on the forum, hope it clarified things a bit!

With all these stats and levels, fiverr looks like a game now. While it might be fun way to keep recording things, some also try to get their numbers as high as possible.

I doubt any seller on buyers requests would see their job offer and go "hmm, i might spend some money with this dude here" NO.

But well. It happens.

Ignore them. To be honest, you should stay clear of links at all times unless you know they are safe.

Many sellers try to advertise their services through buyer requests, but that's not allowed! It's a violation of the TOS, and could result in their accounts getting banned.

Hopefully, soon, Fiverr will add a report button on the BRs so that we can report spam/ad requests.
