 I think the title of your post is misleading - "5 Steps to Become a Top Rated Seller on Fiverr".

Some may take your advice and think that is all that needs to be done to get a TRS badge. The TRS badge is chosen by Fiverr staff, so, it can be hit or miss. Just depends on who is doing the choosing.

Are you a TRS here?

Unfortunately, reaching out and messaging a buyer without them prompting you to first can get your account a warning if the buyer marks your message as spam. Unfortunately, reaching out and messaging a buyer without them prompting you to first can get your account a warning if the buyer marks your message as spam. Yes, I know in the real world and probably other freelancing sites it is encouraged or OK to reach out to clients and send messages to keep a connection. Here, it is just seen as spam.

The title is meant to encourage sellers and it's pretty obvious that these steps are the way to increase your chances of achieving the top and not some form of a guarantee that it will happen. Who would ever think that there is an automated system that awards you a TRS badge after completing a certain sequence of steps when these indicators are not even technically measurable?

Reaching out to a buyer right after the order isn't against the rules as long as you're not seeking to gain any advantage or to upsell your services. For example, if client gets a huge package of different files, there's nothing wrong to make sure that he/she has managed find everything that had to be included in the delivery.

5 actual Steps to become a Top Rated Seller:

1) Be active on the platform for over 180 days
2) Complete at least 100 orders
3) Have at least $20.000 in completed orders
4) Have no warnings in the past 30 days
5) Be picked by Fiverr
