Questions about the W-9 Form

Hello, I am a seventeen year old who wants to sell gigs on Fiverr, however I have a few questions regarding the W-9 Form and the possible taxes that I’ll have to pay.

My first question: Assuming that I’ll fill out the W-9 Form, will I be considered self-employed?

My second question: If I’ll be considered self-employed, will I have to pay taxes every quarter (every 3 months)?

My third question: Do I need a TIN to fill out the form, or is my social security number considered a TIN?

Thank you!

Hi! Usually as a seller under the age of 18, you would use your parent’s info and ask them to fill out the W-9 Form for you.

However, I would still recommend contacting CS for more details and more specific info.

Welcome to the Fiverr forums.

All good questions, but not sure the answer. We’re just fellow buyers and sellers like you, not tax experts. 😁

Have you already read through everything here? https://www.fiverr.com/support/articles/360011135837-W-9-Collection

I have read everything on there, and they don’t really explain what I asked, so that’s why I asked here.

If anything I could email Fiverr Support and see what they say.
