Things New sellers need to know about Fiverr!

Hey!
If you are new seller on fiverr than you need to know these things.

1. Ratings : Keep your ratings above 4.7 other wise you can’t send buyer request.
2. Low prices : Never start your gig from 5$ because there will be very less chances to get your first order. Make your gig unique from others and make your service professional. there are a lot of Top sellers who are selling at 5$. Respect yourself and don’t bargain with buyers.
3. Gig images : Make your gig images professional by using Photoshop and make your own gig images from the work you have done in past. Don’t copy paste it from google its disrespectful for other sellers and artists.
4. Buyer Request : If you belong from Graphic designing section than this section is Useless for you because this section is really frustrating and you won’t receive any orders from it. Its completely useless. There are too many sellers there.
5. Talking with other sellers : I would suggest you to don’t talk or take any suggestion from any senior seller on fiverr. most of them will report you. NO matter what was your intentions or what were you asking. You will receive a TOS warning.Use Fiverr Forum
6. Fiverr App : Use fiverr App because its comfortable and fast. You don’t need to open your PC or Laptop to reply any new buyer just open your phone and reply them.
7. Greed : Don’t trust any buyer who ask you to work before order. Its scam. Be clever and beware from frauds. Don’t run for the money.
8. Patience : Make your gigs its not compulsory that you need to make 7 gigs. You can try with 2 or 3 gigs and make them attractive and professional. Don’t think that you will receive the orders in 2 or 3 days you need to be patient and active.

I think it’s at least 4.5 stars all-time average that you need to send offers to buyer requests. That’s 90% of 5 and the message says something about “90% positive rating”.

I definitely wouldn’t blame it on “senior sellers” and their attitude.

It’s a TOS violation for a reason and this should be main motivation not to break rules not that other sellers might have an attitude.

I faced this issue in 2020 my rating was 4.7 and I was not able to send buyer request. I don’t know if it got changed but I would still suggest new sellers to maintain their rating above 4.7.

Was that your all-time rating that showed on your profile or the rating it showed in your dashboard stats (the 60 day rating)?

It might have been because your first rating 5 months ago was 4.3 stars (so it wouldn’t have let you send offers then). After your 2nd rating (5 stars) it would have been about 4.65 avg. I would have thought it would let you at that point. Your 2nd review was about 4 months ago so wouldn’t have been in 2020.

I am a seller but I needed a logo. Made a buyer’s request to see what’s up (I was busy and I admit a bit lazy)

Within one hour I had 10! new messages in my - seller - inbox. Not only could they hurt my ratings if I didn’t catch them but they are copied versions of what people send to BR’s. At first I didn’t report spams because I felt bad but when I started to get them - very - often I had to start standing up for myself. (Most of my clients say I’m friendly and nice. So no, most older sellers aren’t rude, they are just fed up with spam. Not the same thing (but the tip itself is good. Just… We should present both sides, not just one.)

The rest of your tips are true although I’d also add /be good at what you do/ but I suppose that’s a given 🙂

In the first, you’re suggesting don’t take suggestions from seniors. In the end, you’re suggesting using the Fiverr forum. Is there not a contradiction in your post?

And that is a good suggestion, because you’re only allowed to contact other sellers on Fiverr if you want to buy from them. Contacting them for anything else (to try to sell them something, ask for advice, beg for orders) is a Terms of Service violation.

If you’re not contacting them to buy from them, what you’re doing is spamming and a ToS violation, and of course they’re going to report you. Fiverr inbox is for business, not for spam.
