Buyer is doing scam

I am at a loss and looking to figure out to get out of this situation…

I have worked with a buyer who needs a new website. The price is $2,500 and the buyer canceled the order after getting a copy of the site that was on my own hosting server.

The buyer is now using the work and the support is saying to file a DMCI takedown request that will not give me my money.

Does anyone here has a similar experience and get the amount of the project that the buyer is using the work.
