Who creates the order

Orders are placed via 3 different methods.

  1. The buyer places the order through the seller’s gig page.

  2. The buyer posts a request on the Buyer Requests page and accepts an offer submitted by a seller.

  3. The seller sends a custom offer to a buyer during messaging and the buyer accepts the offer, initiating an order.

All 3 methods involve the buyer accepting or placing the order. Sellers cannot make a buyer accept or place an order.

Hey,

thank you very much for this. Is there a way I can see the difference between 1 and 3 as in this case I was approached by a byer and had a message in my inbox. I can see the “Create offer” button underneath my message when I respond to him, but not sure if I have to create the order or not, as previously I received an order with an roder number etc.

Thanks again,

Sigrid

An order with order number is automatically created by Fiverr if a custom offer sent by a seller is accepted by the buyer.

Oh ok, so this means I can create an order and the buyer can accept it? I thought it was always the buyer that creates the order.

You are getting hung up on the phrase, “Create an order.”

You can send a custom offer with the specific details of the service provided but the buyer must accept it for an order to be “created.”

No. Buyers are the only ones who can accept/place/create/whatever other verb you’d like to use, an order!

Sorry for the confusion, I’m quite new to this and have received one order. I think that’s what I’ll do in this case then: I’ll create the order myself and wait for the buyer to approve.

Many thanks again for your guidance and help. Appreciate!

“Create the offer” you mean.

Good luck!
