How can I get rid of old notifications?

When I log in to my fiverr account, the “Notifications” link in the top right menu tells me I have 8 notifications. How do I get these notifications off of that drop down after I have read them? I never know if any of the notifications are new or not because they never go away. I wish I it would only show the ones I have not seen or addressed.

Notifications remain on the drop-down interface even if read. Main thing is to notice if the Messages tab has a red circle next to it, If there’s a red circle, then you have new or unread messages or notices. If not, then you are caught up on everything and can carry on with your day.
