Fiverr spam... really frustrating

We’re looking for 5-10 people to post on a new forum site, to build up content. I posted the gig and stated very clearly that the poster had to be in a certain city because the forums are of local interest - about that city’s events, issues, news, etc. Within hours, I’m flooded with 30-40 “offers,” all of which read exactly the same: “Hi, I’m xxxxxxxxxxx. I’ve been a seller on Fiverr for about x years and I’d love to do this work for you.” And these are the same old scam SEO offers from Pakistan, France, Phillipines, and everywhere else on the planet. Is there some way to block these idiots? And how do you delete offers so I can get rid of this trash?

I don’t know, maybe I’m just looking in the wrong place to begin with. At first I thought fiverr looked like a good place to hire some help, but I’m getting the impression it’s been taken over by third-world scammers. Maybe one thing that would help is asking them to private message me if they’re interested.

Whenever you submit a buyer request, the seller is usually limited to a response pre-formatted by Fiverr. We can’t change that message unless we have your username, and then sending you a custom message with a link to our gig instead of an offer.

I do hope you find what you are looking for. Unless the city is Denver, I don’t know if I can personally help you out.

Hi @osmigo, I have a forum posting gig that you’re welcome to check out by clicking on my username. Or you can just message me a list of the cities you’re interested in and I’ll let you know if I’m a good fit.

Not sure what the deal is with the “pending” status. I just had trouble delivering a gig, so maybe they’re doing some site maintenance or something.
