Claiming the flag

It has been so long since I created my account here on Fiverr that I have forgotten the process. Anyhow I have a quick question; when someone creates a profile here on Fiverr can they claim any flag (nationality) or does it default to the zip/country code flag? The reason I ask is I have seen many many gigs where the seller claims to be from the US and will review essays, edit the English language etc… yet their grammar and language skills are atrocious. I am wondering if people are creating gigs and claiming to be from the US and really are based in another country. Any comments on this subject matter would be appreciated

No, one does not specify any country. It depends upon IP/ISP

HAHA I have seen that too and people have actually bought the gigs..yikes! BUT it does by whatever the site picks up.

I just saw a gig that has had numerous orders with a seller claiming to have studied English at “Hardvard university.” lol.

In response to the original post: Yes, I’m seeing what you are. There are many sellers on Fiverr saying they are in the US, when they’re obviously not.

I’m in the same boat as nodubya above. I am in the US but a different flag is next to my name and I’m not sure how to change it. Any ideas? Btw, love the comment above about the seller from “Hardvard”!
