Non-clients asking for reviews - how to respond?

Hi,

I’m wondering what’s the appropriate way to handle messages from people asking for positive reviews, and not offering a gig.

For example, I received a message from someone who said they were new to Fiverr and wanted to do a “like-for-like” with me. Obviously I don’t want to do this as it’s against the rules and a waste of time, but if I report and ignore the message my response time goes up? I don’t want to reply because I don’t want to have to waste my time explaining the rules to people who don’t care about them.

Do sellers ignore the messages and risk having a longer response time?
Or reply and waste our time?

Sorry if this isn’t the right place or has been asked before, I’m pretty new.

If you are concerned about your response time possibly going up by flagging these fraud messengers, then simply message to them “Not interested” and then flag them.

Be careful if you are initially responding to an old message that is already in your spam folder. Unmarking the old message as spam to reply to it can suddenly be considered an overdue response and might hurt your stats.

Simple and effective advice, very much appreciated, thanks!
