How to manage revisions

Hi! Thanks for stopping by and helping me.

I have been on Fiverr for almost a year. Today I was polishing my gigs and I did some forum research on revisions. I couldn’t find an answer to my concern.

When you send your first round of revision do you use “deliver your order” feature. And the client is requesting to modify order will be counting as a 1st revision?

All this time I have been sending files for revision in the order chat. And I used “deliver your order” only after all the revisions when we finalize everything with the client to complete the order.

What is the right way to send for revision?

When ready to Deliver a finished work, use the Delivery Box.

If the customer a) has a Revision available and b) wishes to use this Revision, they hit teh Revisions required button and make what they want done clear.

You perform this action (assuming it is appropriate) and then Deliver again.

This makes everything counted and visible. Otherwise technically you are offering infinite revisions (a very unwise practice).

Hello!

As long as you and your buyer are easy that way there is nothing wrong.

Until there is something wrong and you are out swinging on a limb!

This only works as long as everyone fully understands everyone else and behaves honorably. I wish I lived in that world. until then I will keep my intentions clear and on the formal side so that when someone tries to do the impossible, I can protect myself from their cluelessness or grasping graft.

Take the necessary feedback from your buyer before submitting the final work in delivery box. It will help you to make a good impact on your buyer and help you to complete the order without any confusion.

So you are saying ‘do things the wrong way’ so you can focus on your Reviews & Statistics rather than doing it right - the way the platform is designed to work. Is that not cheating/ Me, I would not like to work with people who behaved that way.

Therefore as I have said above, maybe it is not good advice to encourage others to work outside of the way the platform is designed. It leaves them unable to be supported when things do go wrong. I recently had an issue with a client and resolution with CS was simple and fast because I had done everything properly which made what the (non) customer was doing easy to see as wrong.

The help page doesn’t actually have much on the topic.

@benedictrm has the gist of it. You should have everything you need to complete the order from the start, with few exceptions. You do the work and deliver the order. If the Buyer wants revisions, they’re given the option when the order is delivered. You decide what a revision is and is not.

Updates and approvals are another matter entirely. If you need a buyer’s feedback to proceed, consider building a milestone custom offer for them.
