Can you criticise my gig?

I must say your gig is performing rather decently for a new seller. That means your keywords and title are doing their job.

However I see a few things you should change.

Don’t offer unlimited revisions. Max 2 revisions should be enough for an editing/graphic design gig. If your buyers want another, add the extra revision for x amount of $. Don’t encourage buyers to click that revision button like there’s no tomorrow because it can be a living hell for you revising every little single thing they want revised.

The font and colors you used in your thumbnail don’t scream professional for me. Get a more sophisticated, allowed for commercial use font in any website like Dafont, there are plenty for free which are more fitting. Same thing goes with that plain font at the start of the video, it gives the impression you used a simple Arial font that is installed in all Windows computers. A possible customer may think you don’t have the resources to what they’re looking for and they go to find another seller.

Your video is just a mix of different videos, showing the effects you add. It is not a sample that shows what you offer (a professional video ad in this case). That’s a mistake. People can add effects even in simple mobile apps to videos, but can everyone show the cohesion, aesthetically pleasing, brand identity and appeal that ads have? That’s what you should focus to show instead. In your sample there is no cohesion, no harmony between all the videos (every video has different color pallettes, different vibes, etc) and I can’t see what kind of service your sample ad is for. Also, remove that Coca-Cola bottle, you can face troubles with copyright. Remember to use only stock footage allowed for commercial use/footage of your own, in gig samples and in your future projects and work.

For an easy way to make a sample video, I suggest you choose a product of a category you like, search what ads are being done for that product (in real life, that is) and make your own video showcasing your talent. Think of a color pallette that also appeals your customers, there are tools online that help you choose color pallettes based in the mood you want to show, certain colors can induce customers certain feelings, it’s a psychology trick. Then choose videos that follow the same color pallette and mood you want to show. That should give you a cohesive, appealing sample. Don’t be affraid to use transitions, backdrops, backgrounds, decorative elements, etc… Ads on social media today are very flashy and colorful, don’t just use plain fonts, transitions, colors and footage because customers may not choose you because they see you’re not providing what is in trend —consider that the main goal of an ad is to sell, and any ad that is lacklustre compared to the one from the competition, is an ad your potential customers don’t want or need to have, let alone pay money for.

Your description isn’t telling a buyer how you can solve their problem. This is not necessarily bad, but your description is way too short and doesn’t exactly tells what you provide. Make a description that is more detailed as what you offer, and put keywords relevant to your field here and there to improve your SEO. Also, continue to add possible questions your potential customers may have in the FAQ for further clarification (I didn’t see if you added a FAQ, sorry, if you did ignore this part). A description should convince your buyers you’re ideal to solve their problem and satisfy their needs and how you will do it, however yours sounds more like an advert for yourself. Avoid that tone. Your profile description can perfectly showcase your personality, your areas of expertise, your degrees, your works, etc., there’s no need to add that to your gig too (that being said, add a more detailed description to your profile).

Wish you the best with this new gig

Keep always active and share your gig

Keep always active

That’s a myth. Fiverr has buyers from all around the world with different time zones. Most of my orders were placed when I was sleeping, other sellers will tell you the same thing. Plus, a buyer is not discouraged from messaging you if you’re offline as long as you’re quick answering, meaning, you have a good time response (1hr or less). It is not humanly possible to be active 24/7 and it doesn’t helps for anything else than losing sleep and being tired. Don’t.

You’re welcome And it is good to read the forum from time to time, or you can always start a topic if you have any questions, concerns, etc… There are a lot of experienced sellers that will give you their standpoint and can be life-savers when it comes to trouble with customers
