The number of Leveled sellers is also changing by 10-100 daily (losing level).

Even though this is slightly outdated data, it surely illustrates why Fiverr needs to move to a substantial monthly fee to sell. I refuse to believe that no countries besides Pakistan and Bangladesh are producing the most talented artists, designers, writers, proofreaders, etc...despite having far fewer schools teaching those skills than many other countries.  Even though Fiverr's advertising talks about quality, quality, quality, the reality is cheap, cheap, cheap. This is more of a guide to buying sweatshop services for incredibly depressed wages than a catalog of vetted, quality services.

Is this where Fiverr stays?, who knows, but anyone who browses the forum is already familiar with the imbalance of skilled vs unskilled "exparts" here.

Since 2010, Fiverr has grown into one of the largest and popular online freelancing marketplaces. As of 11th June, 2016, most of the Fiverr traffic (17.9%) comes from India followed by US (17.6%) and Pakistan (12.1%)1.

• - "New Seller" level is common
• - Rest "Level One","Level Two","Top Rated" are evidence of performance as they maintain to retain it

Conclusion: Most of those countries sell at cheap rate, having high dollar rate (so even such cheap rate is enough for them to survive). That's what fiverr means $5rr gigs.

What's now ? Business will invest where services are suitable both in terms of price and quality. Pakistan is yet another giant.

Though the the best sellers are not necessarily selling at the cheapest rates. eg. the $5 gigs are not necessarily getting the most orders on average (eg. many new sellers may have created $5 gigs but not getting sales on them). Though you're probably right that currently buyers want the cheaper gigs generally.

Also a country having the most levelled sellers in a category for a might not necessarily mean that they're making the most money in that category, or necessarily getting the most orders on average. eg. a seller might have become a levelled seller from orders they delivered in other categories and then created a new gig in category B. So the gig they have in category B may have had no orders but they're a levelled seller.

When I look for Logo Design in the post, and ctrl-f for it in the Full Results text file, I get no hits. This does not seem to be a complete assessment of all verticals. How was this list chosen?

Anyways, this reminds me of the debate around who wins the Olympics. Is it the country with the most total medals? Or is it the country with the most Golds? Do you give more or less weight to team sports? Do you give more or less weight to sports with a lot of events?

The presented setup falls in line with a "most total medals wins" philosophy, but seems to have a hand-picked list of events.

The source he seems to have used is to go to each of the categories he's listed on the main Fiverr site, with the "top selling" sort (that used to show less than the "recommended" sort but now it shows about the same) then "Now we used filters on each category for Level "One","Two","Top Rated" sellers and counted respective countries:". So he seems to have counted the total number of gigs that it shows in the "seller lives" section of the "seller details" for levelled sellers in that category. So the source I think is based on the totals that it shows in the seller details section of the categories on the main Fiverr site.

Right. Currently we don't how much they earn, quality etc. Every site has different metrics. On fiverr, being cheap and having great no. of sales fulfills purpose.

The presented setup falls in line with a "most total medals wins" philosophy, but seems to have a hand-picked list of events.

- categories having 100+ sellers

- listed countries only having 10% or more in overall contribution

- counted total no. of sellers, NOT gigs

Probably these metrics based on fiverr purpose. and then Pakistan,BD,IN are most cheapest which fulfilling it.

and different website purposes are different, so offcourse metrics may differ.

But surely when you go to a category page, select a seller's country, and check the seller levels you want shown the total it then shows (with the gigs returned in the results) is the number of gigs that it found with those filters, not the number of sellers.

It would surely take a lot more work to find the number of sellers (rather than gigs) for those filters.

Huge mistake. So it show no. of gigs, not sellers. Yes possible having duplicate gigs.

So performance metric is suspicious now. So it is now no. of gigs by leveled sellers in specific countries. lol

It's still likely quite accurate though. eg. sellers from different countries probably aren't likely to have very different numbers of active gigs in a particular category.

eg. if sellers from Pakistan have the most gigs in a particular category then they will most likely be the country with the most sellers that have a gig in that category.

and if Pakistan is the country with the most gigs on Fiverr then they'll also probably be the country with the most sellers on Fiverr.

That doesn't make a lot of sense - working on Fiverr living in the US is much less appealing, given the cost of living. Yes, it works if you're a very high earner on Fiverr (like, top 1%), but there aren't enough of those to be on the top 3 of any category. In a country where you can make 30k+ a year flipping burgers, why would you work freelance for way less? And yes, the vast, vast majority of people in the platform are making less than that. And yes, Americans may do it as a side hustle, I suppose, but they would drop out fast or just have functionally inactive accounts (do it for a while and then give up). They shouldn't be that active. Something doesn't add up.

I would fully expect all categories (except the ones that have to be on location, like shooting video in a certain place, etc.) to have a top 3 consisting only of low cost of living countries. Even for stuff like V/O, you just need to be a native speaker, you don't need to live in the country - you can live in a much cheaper place and make bank.

I believe USA present in every category (suppose to be, having big population, states, universities, education...)

Its largest country having great revenue from digital products like apple, meta, microsoft,... So fiverr best suit for digital services.

"photography","music-audio","lifestyle" categories are bit different. Are cheap countries ignoring it or doesn't consider as work or isn't advertise (didn't mentioned low skill level as I know Pakistanis are everywhere regardless of their skillset 😂) ?

It's present in every category, sure, but it shouldn't be top 3, for the reasons I outlined above. They have a big population, but most of that population is employed in things that can make them more than working on Fiverr. Not so for cheap countries, that's why there are so many sellers there.
