Facebook likes and Twitter Followers Don't Mean A Thing if they are not targeted

I have read some stories on here and come to understand that you must be careful with these facebook/twitter likes.

I agree if they aren’t targeted , they are not of much help.

I prefer building my own networks. Showing people I’m genuine. For me selling my gigs it’s also about a passion of mine that I like to share with the world and people.

🙂

Likes and tweets are useful for the SEO of whatever you are promoting (website, Fiverr service, Facebook page, etc…). They show good social signals in “the eyes” of the search engines.

One should be familiar with all aspects of online marketing in order to judge a service/method/strategy… Saying likes and tweets (when not targeted) won’t do nothing, shows that you hotwebideas are not so familiar (no offense).

Reply to @clixess: Clixess, you are missing the point. I do this for a living just like you, so I AM familiar. If you read the above posts, you will see that other people agree with me.

I checked your Fiverr profile and I see that you do this on Fiverr, so I can see that you are easily offended at my post, but if you think I am not familiar, then you missed the point about what social media marketing is all about. All marketing methods are supposed to be targeted.

If you do not target your tweets and likes, they will do nothing and I have been doing internet marketing for 15 years.

Sorry if you do not agree, but what I said is a proven fact.

Reply to @hotwebideas: First of all I am not offering likes and tweets, so I don’t know what you mean by I am being offended - I’m not. Second, you can do this not 15 but 50 years and still don’t learn what SEO is. Social media signals are very important for the SEO, especially with the Google algorithm updates like Panda and Penguin. This is a proven fact from the biggest SEO experts. I’ve proven it for myself too.

Yes, you shouldn’t expect direct sales from not targeted visitors, but this doesn’t mean you won’t get indirect sales. You may not get buyers from the untargeted likes and tweets, but if they rank your site 1st page on Google, then you will get targeted visitors and maybe achieve sales (if your product and presentation are good). Do you see my point?

Some people here agreeing with you doeasn’t mean you are right. Most people here don’t know a thing about SEO. When they spent $5 on a gig they expect to get $1000 in sales. This is just not going to happen. Gigs should just help you impvore your business and not fully control it.

I’ve bought fake social followers in the past and have had to go through the trouble of removing them all from my Twitter account so I could focus my advertising efforts on the REAL people that would actually engage with me / purchase my service.

I provide a YouTube views gig which is not done by bots; but its not targeted traffic either (which can get expensive)-- it’s views from real people which come from our network of websites. Will you get sales / conversions from those views? Highly unlikely although it COULD happen but the main purpose of my gig (and is stated) is to give your YouTube video a little boost in rankings / popularity so people will actually watch it.
