Music, what changed since 1980s till now?

I would like to start here a “deep and complex” topic, which is how music evolved in the last decades. I tell you this because for me 80s were a great time for music, for creatives, enthusiasts and for the industry as well.

There was space for single artists (while now behind an artist there are working 50 more authors), and innovation was anywere, from the sounds designing to new ways of using instruments and harmony progressions.

I don’t want just music guys replying here but anyone with a passion for music. Did you see this change toward an “industrialization”?

Do we really need polls, and market studies before writing music from our heart? There is still a connection between the artist heart and his song?
