Being used as customer service

First off, I am thankful for Fiverr for having me front page of the site and I’ve seen a massive influx of work from it. However, I seem to be being used as a ‘customer service’ portal and I have people asking me how to place orders etc. I know the site is easy to use and they really shouldn’t be asking (although I’ve answered everyone so far), but is there a link I can pass them to in future? It seems to be happening quite often now…

I get messages like that all the time. The amount of time I’ve spent walking people through the process of using Fiverr makes me wish I could create a gig for it. I send a canned response, and you can feel free to borrow it if you’d like:



"Thanks for the message and your interest in my services. For more information about using Fiverr as a buyer and purchasing gigs, please visit the Fiverr Academy page: http://support.fiverr.com/hc/en-us/categories/200120958-Fiverr-Academy."

Ya can’t just ignore those emails because ignoring them affects your response rate. So, basically, you’re working for free. Even sending buyers a canned response about how to buy a gig takes time, and if you get a lot of questions like that you’re spending A LOT of time acting as a customer service rep. Maybe FIVERR should send a pop box to new buyers the second they sign up. That box walks them through how to buy gigs.
