I am new on Fiverr with 4 gigs at the moment. Whenever I read on how to get orders, there is a point like, ‘Include your work experience’. However, I am new to freelance, I am a student with no work experience. I’ve only read and learnt so much. Does it mean I will get no order because I am starting with no work experience?

Usually I would tell people with no prior experience to create a mock-up portfolio of your capabilities. The problem with that is you can’t really create a portfolio as a virtual assistant, proofreader, transcriber, etc.

When you try to get into these categories as a new seller, it could be difficult because most buyers will look for someone with ratings and reviews. I would try to create videos of myself explaining in detail what I will provide for all my gigs. I would say keeping your prices low might help but in fact it might not if you consider all other new sellers in those categories are doing the same. So even if someone is looking to spend very little money to get the job done, it’s still a gamble.

“I proofread for writers, students and businesses.”

Suggest you remove the above from your proofreading gig as helping with academic work is against the Terms of Service at the bottom of the Fiverr main page.

To offer such services can risk your account.

Most people doing what you do don’t have a video of them explaining ind detail what they offer. I think having you do so can help your gig stand out a bit more.
