Strange request by a buyer

Hi!

I am Stefania and here on fiverr i offer some writing services.

Recently I have received this request by a buyer:



Post a positive review of his product and service on Amazon, after buying it. But he actually doesn’t ship me it.



I feel that it is illegal doing that, and I don’t want to get in trouble…



What can I do? Do I have to accept or refuse?

If you were me, what would you answer?



I need some advice!

That’s incredibly cheeky ( and suspicious) that he would ask for a review of his product without shipping you the sample to try out. I know that Amazon customers rely on honest feedback from the reviews by people who have used the product.



Manufacturers do send out free products for people to try out and leave feedback on, so if you get his product, you could give your honest feedback.



Did he ask you to buy his product? That would definitely be a scam! I wonder how this person would react if you tried the product and had to give it a negative review on Amazon if you didn’t like it?

He could lose his merchant account if you report him to Amazon. You were smart to ask!

I get these requests all of the time… and I refuse them. There are some people who ship me products (they provide me with a promo code that covers shipping and the cost).



I have a box full of terrible supplements and diet pills that I would NEVER touch.

Actually, writing a false review of just about anything is against the law in most countries.

Reply to @lperry: Wow! thanks so much lperry for your reply! I appreciate it more than you know. Yes, he asked me to buy his product and leave him a positive review. But he didn’t convince me! Now that I know that is illegal doing that, I will report him on fiverr. Thanks again!

I would definitely pass. I have had people ask me to post a review that they have written for themselves. I immediately press the report button when those type of requests come in.
