A name is the brand by which you are known. Brand matters. It does not guarantee sales, but it does help people remember who you are and what you stand for, which can be helpful when building a customer base.

Your name is not likely to be the reason why you aren’t getting orders. You aren’t gaining orders, because your competitors are likely convincing all of your target customers to hire them. If you want to earn more orders, be better than the 162,000 competitors that offer the same services you offer.

Agreed.

look! i create whiteboard videos and my username is logoexpert, and i am confused if it is preventing peoples from orders

Why would your username prevent people from ordering if your service is good?

Also, you are getting sales. You have more reviews for whiteboard animations than for logos, and you’ve got an order in queue, too.

The only thing confusing about your name is that it is being used by hundreds of people with all different numbers behind.
Search for “logoexpert” and you will see what I mean, it’s like a serial number 😃

Also, I’m really no expert in whiteboard animations but is it normal that about 70% of all gigs in this category show the same dude? Is this like a default software character or something?

I think your username is great, imagine this:

logo: you designed a logo for buyers.
expert: you’re experienced on this criteria.
48: can say, you can finish logo project in just 48 hours.

A name that everyone else uses, is not an effective brand name.

I will be honest, I would never buy SEO services from someone with a random name like SEOLife247 or Writing200. But maybe that’s just me. I would much rather prefer the name of the person, it’s personal branding for themselves and feels more professional to me at least. But then again, to each his own. I do agree names don’t matter and they won’t give you sales.

I’d be more suspicious of someone with a username like BestSEOExpert. That’s trying too hard to convince me that they’re the best, and if they need to do that, I doubt their abilities.

That was just an example, but as I said, random names like that I wouldn’t trust at all

I meant that I would especially not trust random names that try too hard to convince me that they’re the best of the best. Those best/super/whatever names remind me of cheap cigarettes.

I don’t think so it has a significant difference, but what I have noticed, your location does matter, if you are from third world country then it might be difficult to get the orders because of high competition.

That’s not true. I saw a lot of successful people with tens of thousands of orders from third world countries. I believe what matters more is the service you provide and how good you are at it.

When you’re on Fiverr, you complete with people from all over the world, not only those in your area. So, the location doesn’t matter, otherwise only US sellers or Western Europe sellers would get a ton of orders. And that’s not true.
