How to make buyer satisfied at first?

I got a job to do, before buying gig I made a draft for the buyer. The buyer liked my work and give me some changes. I did that changes for the buyer. But suddenly buyer told me that buyer got someone else and took away my work from me.
Can you guys tell me what i need to do to satisfy a buyer at first?

He has already rejected your work & preferred someone else for the same work. if you do a better job, he will ask for a change again. i have been in this same situation. i think you better avoid him and try to find a good buyer.

This was a bad idea. Never give your work away for free. It never ends well, because, more often than not, the person asking for a “draft” just wants your work for free.

Yep. You let your buyer cheat you into free work. Never give your work away for free. If someone wants your work, they will hire you – and pay you – for it. I hate to say this, but the buyer didn’t take anything from you… you willingly gave it to him completely free of charge.

You satisfy a good buyer by delivering the work he paid for.

Hello, they pay you first. Then you do the work. Never do it first. They will not pay if they get it free.

I think you should send the buyer your portfolio link first.
If buyer agrees then discuss work and ask to place order.
Never Work For Free.
