It’s almost 9 years i am working on fiverr,
Never had any huge bad experience but this time
Buyer is a cheater, gig was for 1 video but he aksed me to do 4 versions by saying he was expecting this because of a confusion …i did it just because i thought it’s okay

He requested me to add logo to his products i did it.

Then after i delivered he said ok thanks .

Then after 2 days he came back and requested revisons and open a dispute for cancel ’ it’s expensive’
That is what he wrote on the order dispute
Now when i checked his fb page and Instagram the video is already uploaded and used for advertisement
Even after that i asked if you need revisions i am ready to do … he said not enough i want money back and he is not accepting order .
We as a seller are always abused here, i always feel that we do not have equal rights on fiverr… this i sreally wrong how all the power is given to the buyer

I have contacted with fiverr and not getting reply

They will reply in some days…and i guess if the things are open for revision doesn’t affect your on time delivery (not sure about it)

Customer Support is extremely busy and understaffed right now. They have said that it could take up to 10 days before you receive a personalized response. Please be patient.

If people were honestly confused, you can clear up their confusion (usually, that will be by repeating what they could and should have taken from your gig description, but whatever) and offer to send them a “Gig Extra” that will cover the additional cost (and additional time) if needed. If they were not honestly confused, and simply don’t want to pay more, you’re better off cancelling before you start wasting any time on that order, because it’s clear that they wanted to take advantage of you from the start (possibly with the full intention of using your work and using your fear of a bad review to make you refund their money, as has been proven true in your case).

I’m somewhat amazed that this is the first time in 9 years that you have to deal with someone like that, I hope you were just lucky and didn’t just refund many people or do far too much work without compensation.

With such people, I’d also have no problem to keep denying any cancellation request they send and to tell them I will send/sent the issue to support and that it might take a while to get a response, currently up to 10 days. Also make sure to kindly inform them that they are not entitled to use the work in case of a cancellation and that I’ll file a copyright claim with FB, or YT, or wherever they use my work.

I understand fear of a bad review, especially when sellers are just starting out, but 9 years in on Fiverr you should really stand your ground.

What are you going to do if word gets round that one can get you to work for free like that, or if that person keeps ordering from you and doing the same thing with different accounts, work for free all the time (and maybe have to decline jobs by legit buyers because you don’t have enough time)?

Even if you’d get a bad review, you’d at least get the money (already not enough for the work, as you said) for your work, and you can leave a reply to their review that will tell legit customers what they need to know, and will keep the other kind of “customers” from ordering with the full intent of using your work and making you cancel in any case from ordering (provided they read reviews, or anything but the price on your gig).

Then after 2 days he came back and requested revisons and open a dispute for cancel ’ it’s expensive’

That’s a non-reason, they knew what it cost already before ordering, not to even mention that you said you did 4 versions, while they only bought and paid for 1, or something like that.

When you talk to support, always be as clear, precise and brief (any needed info for this exact case but no superfluous info they’d need to wade through or might misunderstand) as possible, especially now, that they seem to be understaffed and maybe are overworked.

Good luck with this, I hope it will be over soon with you keeping the money you worked for, and maybe even them leaving no review.

I’ve had an extortion case or two, and while I was fully prepared for a bad review, it didn’t happen, by the way, maybe they weren’t too sure that support would side with them, or they might even lose their account if support took a closer look at it.

Standing your ground when you know you’re right and dealing with a kind of person like that, is important, you surely don’t want them to do that again to you, or to other sellers.

Why wouldn’t someone who asks and expects this be a demanding scammer? And why wouldn’t this person then try manipulating you in other ways?

I’m sorry you got scammed and mistreated but you really need to think more critically and say no. No professional, ethical client would do this.

Why?

Because it’s theft and coercion. No bank robber who asks you to hand over money at gunpoint changes into a decent customer wearing a ski mask and holding a gun.

Sellers, please, please, please stop exploiting yourselves to get a sale and protect your ratings. Respect yourself.

If he has given a good review so there’s no need to cancel the order. if he’s gonna give a bad review so that’s okay, just cancel it. because you know, there are always bad people and scammers and he maybe just a scammer. if you give him a refund, he will be confident that his scamming trick is working on Fiverr so don’t cancel the order if he already has left a good or average review. I don’t really know, why people do this, maybe because they are exceedingly selfish. Just contact CS and tell them, he asked for revisions and he even used the delivered work and now he is asking for a refund. they will take care
