All about graphic related gigs

so, I was wondering around the forum in search for a graphic related threads or discussion and can’t find any. So maybe it’s a good thing that I started one. This is my first thread too. I wonder if it’s going to last long. lol

so YEAH. there are tons of graphic related gig out there. let’s start with the tips.

A. RAISING SALES

  1. I think it’s easy, PORTFOLIO. especially when you just started your gig, do your best to please your first costumer, because the moment you create it your gig will come up in the front page more, it’s a good start to gather positive review.
  2. Portfolio
  3. Portfolio, yes, I think it’s all about what the customer meet the eyes.

    B. KEEPING CUSTOMER
  4. Your best customer is your current customer, especially those who keep on coming back for more. so treat them well, there’s a debate though to be more friendly with the customer or stay formal. I say be yourself. do what most comfortable for you.
  5. quality control, nuff said.
  6. THE SELECTION, sometimes when you’re good enough with your reputation you’ll have outnumbered clients. It’s time to kick some of more unprofitable bloodsucker! (it depends on your personality though. it’s up to you). Some clients just take more time to deal with, make you less productive, you can choose to brush em off by setting higher price (if they accept it makes you more productive then). or keep them. because we human have limited time to work, so in order to gain more, a sacrifice must be made.

    C. Quality vs Quantity
  7. Quality! I prefer do one order worth 80$ a day rather than 16 order each worth 5$ which makes the same. to do this you should be able to provide such value. maybe in more details, shiny, sparkly, or good looking results.
  8. Quantity! Sometimes a 5$ order only takes 10-15 minutes to do, so, maybe it’s worth it. But it will damage your live porto! a graphic that takes some flash duration will probably resulting in pile of pic junkies.

    D. Message for all graphic artist

    DON’T

    DON’T

    PLEASE DON’T BE

a graphic wh0r3. (pardon my language, (it turned to whore lol)).

what I mean is someone with a great skills but set up a low price. Excuse me, you’re lowering the graphic professional value! please respect yourself, and be confident. If you can create a davinci, don’t ask for a kindergarten scribbling price. because you are worth it!

    E. Who am I?

this part is not important, so please just skip it if you’re not curious about me.

I’ve been joining for 3 years. I though I could be a top rated by then, But no. . . probably because I have a bad record of asking client’s email, and slacking off often. lol

Doing graphic stuff for years, and after graduated from a design degree I decided to continue on fiverr.

why am I here? since the top rated seller are handpicked and must active in community, I started to share here. so yeah let’s be frank.

alright I hope this will be usefull, I’ll try to answer some question or reply some haters and junkers. I hope some are disagree, because that way I could learn something new. will this thread rise to the sun or sink to the bottom of the abyss? who cares. let’s just take what’s good and be a better person in every single second we have.

I wish I could charge larger prices instead of doing big jobs for $5 - but I’m not sure how to get clients with big projects to order from me.

It’s hard with my gigs, because my photoshop gig is super broad. While my other vector converting gig is pretty specific - although I can’t really think of gig extras to make people buy.

Maybe I’ll have a bit more of a think when I have a bit more spare time.

But yeah, I seriously agree with people charging ridiculously low prices for quality work - makes it hard for the rest of us to charge reasonable prices 😉 But I 'spose that’s hard when the whole site is revolved around paying $5.

Reply to @kenthcruz:

glad that could inspire you. it’s actually also meant for myself, I wish I could sell my work even higher! it’s not about just the money, but how much people will value your effort.

I think your skill is great. it is just a matter of marketing your talent. but don’t ask me, I’m not good with that myself lol.

Reply to @celinedesigns: first, let me say. in your first year I see you already make more than 200 sales, that’s a great start. probably better than how I used to be (slacking off).

indeed, but it’s a waste if you don’t use the 40$ extras though.

yes, those people may not know their real value though. so instead cursing, we should show them the way of light (sfx angelic tone). but believe me, some buyer with pride and respect are exist, they don’t take joy from purchasing quality work at a low price or overworking their sellers. just keep up with the great customer service 😉
