Changes to a gig should be done as little as possible, though as often as needed

If you need to make a change to fix a problem (ex: fix a typo, update prices, add a critical FAQ, etc.) to improve the functionality of a gig, do it. Grammar errors hurt your credibility, being underpaid hurts long-term viability, unclear services mean you’ll be passed by in favor of other sellers.

If you want to change something that’s not a need (ex: change the shade of blue in your gig image, or swap a synonym like ‘hi’ and ‘hello’) then you could very well be hurting your gig. Gigs are removed from the search while changes are verified. This usually doesn’t take long, but it’s possible that your unnecessary change also decreases your visibility.

As for impressions:

Guys, I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again… Impressions are NOT a good way to determine the success of your gig. We all know by now that there is a Fiverr bug that has erased the impressions listed for your gigs (yes, Fiverr knows about it, and is working on it). Please be patient, and please stop complaining about it. Stop responding as if the sky is falling, or the world has come to an end. Impressions say very little about the success of your gig. In fact, when it comes to success, …

On the topic of ‘rank’:

“Gig positions are not permanent and can rotate on a daily basis.”

This can be found here, https://sellers.fiverr.com/en/article/levels-warnings-and-status under Gig Status, in the second drop-down.
