someone said on inbox he had paid and had placed an order. but he could not complete the requirement. during my experience being a seller, when the order entered but the buyer has not yet completed requirement the notification will still enter. but this is not a notification at all, and does not appear on the dashboard page. is this a bug or is the buyer trying to trick me? I want to complain to CS, but when I try, I have to give an order id… so please help.

They are trying to trick you. If you see no order on the orders page, there is no order. Simple. You need to go back to the buyer and ask them to purchase the gig and if they are adamant that they have paid for one you need to advise that they contact customer service as you don’t have the order so cannot start any work on their request.

You can always tell them that you can’t see it from your side and ask them to send you an order number that fiverr generated when they placed an order.

If they are scammers they will just try to talk you into working with them and still repeating that they did place an order.

If that’s a Lego are buyer and there is indeed a bug, they will try to look for an order number and if they wouldn’t be able to find it they will start freaking out that money was taken from their account but order wasn’t placed.

@wolfhowler is 100% spot on.

Without Fiverr sending you confirmation that an order has been placed, you are under no obligation to start work.

If you choose to ignore that advice, you will have no way of getting paid. Simple.

This isn’t your problem. It is the buyer’s problem.

thank you, yes, I’m afraid this is happening because of a bug, because I’ve never experienced anything like this.

They might be trying to get you to believe there is a bug. When they didn’t even attempt to place an order in the first place. Or perhaps there is a bug. Regardless, as @english_voice says, don’t start work, there is no obligation to work on an order you can’t see, if you do, you’re only putting yourself at risk.

I’ve had that happen with 2 different customers recently, long-time, regular customers who definitely weren’t trying to trick me.

Of course, it could be that someone tries to trick you with that.

What I can tell you from that experience in any case is that it probably won’t do much if you go to customer support, I did, and they told me that the customer needs to contact them, privacy reasons, etc.

I’d give the customer a direct link to the page to open a ticket, one of my two customers hadn’t found the support link by himself.
