I haven’t seen this yet, and I hope I don’t.

I’ve been getting the stupidest messages lately.

And I’ve just received a stupid order from someone for something I don’t do.

What is going on?

This is why I believe that Fiverr should have an official “Buyer” sign up. They must pay $100 in advance. That should ensure that there are only serious buyers on here.

To be honest, I think that Fiverr needs to confront the fact that it has a bit of a growing brand identity crisis. 9 out of 10 of the messages I get are just dead leads. If I get one more person asking "how much for copywriting for my website" (without thinking to send a link or even tell me what they do) I’m going to go postal.

I have been seeing lots of ads for Fiverr Pro on YT lately. That’s great for them. However, if Fiverr could invest a fraction of that marketing spend into better onboarding new buyers, I think they would see better returns.

I’m talking about Fiverr acknowledging that they are still a go-to platform for startups and budget entrepreneurs whom might never have used a freelance market place before. In this case, don’t make it easier for them to say less in a message. Instead, give them guidelines on how to compose messages that let sellers know exactly what they need.

Personally, replying to people in my inbox is just painful most of the time. If you can’t tell me what you need, I don’t have the time to ask you hundreds of questions, only to discover that you were expecting me to give you a quote for less than half of my standard rate.

This problem could be largely avoided if Fiverr took steps to educate new buyers on how to send messages and make sure they know what costs to expect up front. i.e. Prior to sending a message, a buyer could be reminded that the seller they are contacting charges a $20 basic rate. In this case, if they were expecting to pay less, they might want to contact another seller.

Small things like this could capture more sales and, make life easier for sellers. However, instead, we get this new iteration of the custom order features, which it seems like I am not the only one who has already experienced it bringing even lower quality leads to my door.

In my country for 5$ I can’t do anything, and with my high salary, I cant buy a container. When I was working in Africa with my salary if I stayed there I could buy a house with a swimming pool, and 5$ is all day full meals.

So the problem is the difference what you can do with 5$ and what they can do for 5$. Most workers in factories have standard wages at 2-5$ a day.

So working from home is really appealing to them.

@virginiabg Happy Birthday. I found a picture of your cake. It looks delicious! I love chocolate. What is in the balls on top of it.

brigadeiro cake

Uplo😊

What is in the balls on top of it.

More chocolate :raised_hands:t2: (or brigadeiro as we call it)! Ha ha. It’s not for the faint of heart. It’s literally a sugar bomb, but when done right it’s not overly sweet. I love it, but I’m a chocoholic so…

true so many rules for us sellers and so much freedom for buyers … and some of them are just crazy people should understand fiverr is a platform and to treat it like a real life market i mean if you want a service or a product on real life you have to pay the price or find somwhere else a better offer you dont go in zara and bargain for a shirt or in the supermarket for your food

I mean buyers here just undervalue our work a lot idk why 60% or more of them just feel like they should get anything for allmost free they dont even consider we are real persons and we invest time and effort in our services because maybe have to live from this or at least boost our financial situation a little bit and surely if we work 8 hrs for 5$ we wont achive nothing

I would give my all bets balls are Raffello.

Fiverr give sellers the option to charge whatever they want as long as it’s $5. Personally, I cannot work for 🥜 peanuts. NO WAY, JOSÉ! I can’t speak for the people charging $5 bucks for a gig. When Bargain Hunters come to me with low-ball offers, I turn them away. Lowball offers are an insult! Grrr :lion:

thats my point but i was wondering like whyyy this low-ball people exist in the first way here

they exist because there are people here (sellers) who dont value their work or who are so desperate they will do anything for 5 $ so this is how this low ball guys where born and they are multiplying this also affects us normal people because we have to deal with a bunch or people expalining them why we can not work a full day for peanuts and even then they still the mad ones

You are not looking at the bigger picture. The guy who works all day in the factory from 7 am to 6 pm for 2-5$ is going to be out of this world happy to make it on Fiverr in such way he gets one order a day at 5$ all he has to do is crop the logo from internet, take PSD template and put something in it, make some I do not know, anything is better than all day in the factory to him.

To you, 5$ is low, to him 10$ a day and he is a millionaire by their standards.

It is not their fault we cant do anything with 10$.

when ive seen on buyer request someone making like a 1000 words description of how he need a website built from 0 with shop and design and everything and then in the end say hes budget is fixed at 5$ i belived its a joke

Oh, no! 😬 Don’t ruin brigadeiro cake with coconut on top of it. Eh. No. Just no. I’m sorry for those who like Raffaello, but it just not for me :no_good_woman:t2:

Edit: Although, now that I have taken a second look, the ones on @vickiespencer’s image are “beijinhos”, kinda like Raffaello. But my cake is more like this one - a true chocoholic’s dream:

Last day I received and order of 2500 PDF email contact’s conversion to spreadsheets for just $50, I politely replied back giving my time price and time limit. Now I am in peace as I’ve not received any response yet. 😊
