bartendergal Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I’m an actress. As you can imagine I juggle several freelancing gigs to pay my bills, which is how I found fiverr. My contract with my agent and manager was up and I was not very interested in continuing the contract because I wasn’t getting sent out much and I wanted to dedicate more time to my projects anyway. One of my New Year’s resolutions was to focus on one major project at a time. The first project I wanted to focus on was an alter ego I created called Bartender Gal. Bartender Gal was one of my ideas to start an online business, work from home, and have a flexible schedule so that I could then focus on producing my own films. It started out as an online training course to learn how to bartend, but soon led to an amazing opportunity to use my acting chops and get paid!I launched my online training course and while I did sell my videos and mixology services I also started receiving requests to do short videos as Bartender Gal! This is how it happened. For every lesson I had created an introduction video presenting what I would be covering in the lesson. I had used a green screen and did some simple editing of my logo flying into the screen. This not only showed my acting skills, but also showed that I had my own equipment to make my own videos.I received so many requests to do videos as Bartender Gal that I ended up creating a service just for that purpose! I haven’t acted this much and gotten paid for it since…well ever. The best part about it is that I don’t have to audition! Actually the best part is that I’m still wearing my pajama pants while I’m on camera and getting paid! And I’ve only just started! Just reached level 1 and 70% closer to level 2. So it’s safe to say that I accidentally am doing what I love most, which is acting…who knows maybe it will lead to something big some day and I can thank fiverr in my thank you speech at the Academy Awards! Haha!Best of luck to you all! Anything is possible!-Bartender Gal
thenewsbyyou Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 That is a great story!.I’m not sure how it works with Fiverr (could we have a rep answer this please) but we would love to feature your story about how you make a living from it in our magazine, if we are able to talk further. Free of charge and with a link to your Fiverr page where people can order. Can any Fiverr reps tell me if I’m allowed to request this via this site as long as I’m still communicating on here right? Suppose it’s good for Fiverr business anyway!Let us know if your interested Bartender Girl! 🙂
