So I definitely have some competition writing notes for people who just want to get some better-looking summaries, right? I mean, I have been doing this over a month now, and things went pretty great. Me and a lot of other sellers I know have been offering this type of service for quite some time now, and we seem to never have a problem with it. Now, I ask one tiny help from their Fiverr Customer Support, and they immediately ruin my entire career by denying my only source of income. Can anyone here help me in what’s going on??? (They accused me of making academic work, but it’s literally just rewriting uglier and duller notes for a few bucks what in the world is wrong with that?!)

Notes are academic; some teachers and professors require that students turn in their notes, and you never know which of your customers are using your services for that.

@markadamdesign

Here’s the thing. I’m gonna bet that there won’t be a single academic professor in a university requiring you to rewrite his entire lecture, or even some dozen PowerPoints and make it look pretty, especially during these times. My work is about making notes look better and more aesthetic, and no sane teacher would grade a student for his/her notes out of how much color or glitter is pasted there. It just doesn’t work that way.

Dude, I’m a teacher. No, I don’t grade my students based on how pretty their notes are, but you had better bet that I will notice some extra effort has been put into it. Organization or clarity are easily on many teachers’ rubrics for notes and your service could give that student higher marks in that category, just by making their notes “look better.”

Again, you never know what they are asking you to rewrite their notes or PowerPoints for. They could say it’s their professor’s powerpoint notes, but really it’s for a project. Student teachers need to make academic PowerPoints all the time on a wide variety of subjects to demonstrate how they would deliver content to students.

Alright, hold on. Why exactly would a teacher need notes of the exact PowerPoints they already made? That kinda sounds crazy considering that the teacher made those as visual aids to help the student understand the lesson, not wasting time trying to rewrite everything a teacher does. As a teacher, you must have an explanation for this, right?

Note-taking is a skill. A skill can be graded. If taking notes is part of the class, then a professor has the right to grade that to ensure that students are, well, actually taking notes and doing the work. Some professors won’t give a single care in the world about the content, but just that the student has demonstrated that yes, in fact, they are taking notes.

Your gig has gone from “rewriting notes for students who want better looking summaries” to “rewriting everything a teacher does just with some color and glitter,” so I can see you are trying to frame your gig in a way that hides the fact that yes, you may be benefiting some students through your gig.

You are preparing an academic work.

Preparing academic works is prohibited on Fiverr.

If you follow that logic, then Fiverr should be removing a big chunk of its gigs featured on the top page since I you will notice tens and thousands of services far worse than what I do. If I’m going to compare rewriting notes which the probability of submitting in class is extremely slim to a Level Two seller offering business case studies and medical consulting, then wouldn’t that be extremely unfair to my part that what I’m doing is merely for the purpose of creativity yet is misconstrued for something their relevant team thinks is doing academic work?

No, that’s definitely something twisted in my opinion to single me out like that.

Its sad to hear such a great loss but you should have considered reading their policy terms before seeking for their tiny help as the job that you were doing was against the community’s terms.

True, I’m resting this for now in the meantime. Back to mundane days for now
