Recently a lot of scam/spam

I’ve recently noticed a exponential increase in spammers/scammers trying to get into my inbox. I do Dutch/English translation work and I’ve had a number of people asking me if they could provide ME with translations, because ‘they need some quick money’. These messages are always in very broken English, and I’ve noticed they are always from one of three countries; India, Pakistan and Iran. (This may be overgeneralised, but these are the countries I get 95% of the spam from).

I always report them as spam, and just don’t respond to their messages again.
But I am curios, are more people experienceing the spam/scam increase?
