Buyer Requests

OK… so when you go into the Buyer Requests and you “SEND AN OFFER”, how do you select the correct Gig for the request? I want to submit to an offer but my Gig that keeps on coming up isn’t in anyway related to the request. How can I change it?

You cannot. The system is flawed. Inexperienced buyers are allowed to choose which category they think the gig will fall under and as you see, they do not always get it right. We used to be able to send an offer with the wrong gig and then follow up with a message to their inbox explaining that we were not able to choose the right gig. Now, however, we cannot do any follow up.

So you have 1 of 2 choices.

  1. Don’t send the offer.
  2. Send the irrelevant offer and have the annoyed buyer ignore you.

Sometimes you can, sometimes you cannot. I dont know WHEN you can and when you cannot.Anyway when the system allows you to choose, you just need to click the little arrow from the right of your gig, check this sample and fallow the red arrow, you will see it. This also heapened to me, sometimes the system allows me to choose, sometimes it does not, I dont know why. I hope this helps.

Reply to @anacristina89: No. You can only click on the arrow, extending the list of possible offers, IF the buyer chose the same category as yours from the start.

If the buyer needed something photoshopped but thought it might be under the category of “Illustration”, instead of “Photography and Photoshopping”, (because they need an illustration to be fixed), you would NOT be able to access any of your photoshop gigs.

The only time you have a “choice” is if you have multiple gigs under the same category that the buyer chose. Even if the buyer chooses the wrong category. (I’m not blaming the buyer in any way. They are new and may not know the proper categorization.) 🙂

I hope Fiverr will fix all these problems soon!

I prefer it if Fiverr just allowed buyers to post “Buyer Requests” under different categories (Advertising, Writing, Marketing, Audio/Music, etc) just like on the front page of their older website design.

Sometimes I wonder if this new method of “Buyer Requests” and of sellers “Sending An Offer” to the buyers is helpful or effective. Sometimes I wonder if the messages I send are actually getting through and getting read or not.

Reply to @fiverr_quest_ex: yes. Some kind of broad category would be nice. Since no inbox message is generated, I have no idea if they received my offer or not. There is no way to check what I sent either via the inbox or even on the request page.
